Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Has anyone voluntaried to be layoff ?

I am thinking of volunteering to be layoff instead of quitting.

Pros and cons of asking to be layoff? Would they just fire me instead?

I am a high performer employee and never had issues with my managers, but can't no longer take the emotional distress caused by my new manager. Abusive and controlling narcissistic person.

I did last year durning all the layoffs. Still here and still mentioning it every chance I get. I.E. please lay me off. If they do great, if not just ride it out till retirement. The lunatics do run this asylum.

If you quit, you will not be eligible for the unemployment benefits.

You post this AS IF you are under the impression that they care about you. I assure you, they do not. If you voluntarily leave your position, that is called a resignation and they will issue you your last paycheck and call it a day. My manager was the absolute worst. I cut my losses and resigned with no notice, leaving her in the lurch. If they were to lay me off, I would have gotten no notice, it seemed fair to me. No one is going to strike a deal with you.

I know of some people who have done it. They knew layoff decisions were about to be made and had a good relationship with their boss. Doesn’t sound like you are in the same situation.
