Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I hope people come thru this OK

I hope everyone that has sacrificed for this company comes thru this latest round OK, whether they survive the cut, are able to leverage the severance to find a new job, and/or most importantly improve their mental health and quality of life.

I also hope that the people that come there to brag about having multiple jobs or only work 2 hours / week find another company to drain resources from.

@tle+1r411yPk,
I have a same experience, although with another company. I'm damaged person since then in a sense that I can't bear thought about layoffs. Just as you, I'm also very sensitive to news about people being made redundant. This is totally unhealthy.

I hope everyone feels relief soon. I was impacted in July and survived almost two decades of WFR/LRs. Im not going to lie, seeing all of this from the outside, hearing from friends still there who are struggling , is triggering my trauma response. The PTSD is real. Everyone take care of yourself. Hydrate, nourish, move and get fresh air., connect with a friend. This will pass and whatever happens, you’ll be ok.

I have been through several of these LR’s, never fun. We’ll see what happens this time. I can say there are a lot of really good people at this company, including local leadership, keep your relationship strong. Cisco has been great for me and my family and were amazing during some serious medical issues with my wife and baby, I will always be grateful. Unfortunately, ELT lost its way, blinded by ego they let the market and competition blow right by us and hoped an overpriced acquisition will save us ever few years. Hang in there folks!

I was impacted by the LR last July and am doing okay. I’m sick to my stomach for folks impacted this time. Looking back, I can’t believe I ever worked in an environment where I constantly had to worry about layoffs. It wasn’t healthy.
