Yep, if they are stupid enough to pay me lots of money to get on my soap box 4 times a year to talk about how great everything is, show pictures of my dog, and then mention this month's new buzz words like verbal diarrhea and throw in AI at the end. At least I make my own PPT slides, but I have the whole quarter to make the deck. I could probably delegate that too.

A good technology company always have more good engineers than useless managers. More useless managers just report fake works.

Just as 4nvn+1r40P0VI mentioned, these managers create drama to make themselves look useful, and may even create a toxic environment to employ crisis management. Part of this tactic is to create useless non-impactful work.
So many managers use their above-average intelligence to create drama!

I mean... isn't that what all those higher graded managers are doing... waiting to retire... thats part of the problem.

There does need to be another ACT with spans and levels mandated for people to become a manager. Too many layers and empire building. Plus there are so many high graded managers - do we really need all these Sr.Directors, Sr.PEs, VPs, CVPs... etc? Nope!

Are you sure managers know how to create PPT? I thought they always ask worker bees to create PPT for them. All they do is just talk.

The Peter Principle is strong at Intel, and it's because the company expects you to transition into a leadership role at some point in your career. The longer you're there, the higher the expectation. If you don't do that, or even show an interest, then you're out.

True. Intel managers are worthless, just ppt and emails. They can not read data, do not understand any manufacturing indicators. With 8 to 10 levels in the org tree, only 10% leaves left working.
