Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Comp review...

Apparently I have topped out as an elite expert and I can't make anymore hourly...
I was shafted on my raise because of it. Next year should be great if there is a next year.

It works like this...people who are obviously like more by their managers will get more raise and bonuses. We have some real brown nosers on our team that are into everybodies business all the time. Fortunately for me they need me on the team to do the real work otherwise I would be laid off.

I got 3%. I know of someone getting 6% in my same role, and also another person who was out most of the year getting a larger % than me. I’m done here.

I was told this year that raises were mostly influenced by where you are on your job's pay range than your actual performance, i.e. if you're already near top of your range, you may only get a 1-2% pay raise even if you are a top performer, because T-Mobile's goal is to move everyone towards the median.

Personally I thought it sounded like BS, both as a business philosophy and as an excuse for giving sub-standard pay raises, especially considering they generally pay sub-market rates (based on LinkedIn job postings that I've seen for similar job positions). They seem to be in full cost-cutting mode between the layoffs, pay rates, and trying to move jobs to Overland Park at significantly lower salaries.

3% and 100% here. Can't complain as work has really slowed down since outsourcing began. Would not be surprised if I am in the next round. Not at all

I got a 2.5% and a corporate employee. Underwhelming and thought 3% was the minimum standard across the company. I heard from somebody else that they also only got 2.5%.

I have been making less than 3 % increment for the last 3 years and I am still around.. Don't really mind if they get rid of me this year

Wonder if it’s by department. I got 135% but only 2.5%. I was told merit wasn’t even discussed locally. It all came from up top. We have guys who are underperforming that made higher percentages.

anyone less than 3% and 100% is more or less on probation and not an "essential worker" not that that means much anymore.

3% here. near top of range. only top performers and those not currently paid fairly received 4%. Sorry but very, very few good raises after 5k layoffs. Keep your chin up bad managers and leaders eventually leave because they ego takes them to places they are not prepared to go.

Well the dept Im in laid off 60% Aug last year. Hasn't been a chance of advancements in a year. And imo the higher you are the sooner you're gone

Got 3%. Super close to topped out but they wouldn’t even bring me up to that.

Between low comp increase and the cr-ppy bonus structure that has hit I can’t afford to keep working in this role. Moving up is nearly impossible. Basically the only option is to look outside. This company no longer cares about fair compensation or keeping up with living expenses for their front line employees.

If you're topped out in salary in your current position then you need to work with your manager on the next step in your career. Being at the top rate is not somewhere anyone should be staying at. You should have an IDP set up in Workday outlining your next steps.

Salaried employee here…120% on individual goal. 4% raise.

Is it true T-Mobile is using Forced Ranking?
