What on earth is DXC doing renting an office tower across the street from the superdome? The data centers are also showing their age not to mention DXC has a poor record in cyber security. Isn't it better to move the customers to AWS or even rent a rack at equinix? Plus people are happier working from home.

Very thoughtful reply thank you
Possibly because it's done without a plan. No strategy and calculation of overall impact. Decisions to shutter services and facilities are made through the real-estate financial view and not much consideration for downstream impacts. Downstream impacts are lost revenue, some actually profitable. It's amazing that the executives have been surprised by lower revenue/profits after shutting services. I'm like duh, what did you think would happen? The answer is always they assume revenue stays flat or grows, profit grows from lower cost. They let the people go instead of redeploying. They have no concept of good vs. bad expense. Also, when you move that work into the cloud DXC doesn't gain, the cloud provider gains. DCX runs some very large SAP estates for very large companies. Many of these cannot be run in the cloud at this time. It's been tried with different cloud providers and the clouds have been found to be lacking with none willing to sign up the high availability SLAs. The cloud providers will advertise high availability, but few will actually sign up unless they control a lot more than the clients want them to. Some of these estates are so large that even SAP doesn't guarantee their availability levels (that DXC contracts to). Offices are one thing. The problem with shutting offices is customers do expect the ability to meet in your office and take a look at your setup. Also, there are lost interactions by not having the in-person experiences. Work from home is great, especially for mature teams and/or routine operations. But, it's also good to be able to have the in-person interactions. You say DXC isn't great with Cybersecurity, but neither are some of the cloud providers or even makers of security & networking software. There have been breaches and exposures there, the grass is not greener. DXC has actually helped companies to recover from some very malicious attacks. DXC is strong in operational security but their security offerings are a bit weak (IMHO). DXC also does have some great Datacenter Transition services. They are experts at moving in and out of datacenters. But they need to have a more holistic plan for their own business to achieve their expected outcomes.
