Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

2/22 - is this the next big layoff date?

I’ve heard 2/22, 2/29 & 2/15. Does anyone have clarity around the next date? And those that were let go already how was it done? Was it normal 1:1 meeting or other titled meeting?

IT is the target for 2/22. I’m on the list (asked for it) so I know for sure.

are you help desk or a SWE?

I have heard some folks were already told for next week. Mostly contractors, also heard the 22nd for employees. Next week will be rough for everyone, just the anticipation of a 1 on 1 change or impromptu meeting is creating so much anxiety. Culture has been very toxic with some folks you work with, doing anything to save their backsides, throwing others who jump through hoops to get things done, into a shark tank. 🦈

There are definitely some layoffs happening (at least in Evernorth) on 2/22.

My usual 1:1 was on Thursday. Typically an afternoon meeting but was moved to early morning. I had mentioned my frustration with our orgs leadership and the fact they would shy away from the relevant issues and we weren’t to ask questions, just go with the flow. So when the meeting was moved to the morning I knew it was my turn on the block. After 15 or so years, you experience a lot of different seasons. This one’s been worse than any I’ve seen. So much knowledge and talent going to other big companies that will hopefully appreciate what they bring to the table.

Mine was a scheduled check-in that was put on my calendar the week prior. Total blindside in October. It even said 3rd qtr check-in. Good luck to all of you

If you're asking this, you're asking an anonymous source to give up their work area, which will shine light on them.

Mine was a recurring 1x1 meeting and it was moved from my usual day to Thursday on the given week.

“Replying to: I heard it was case management.

Are you being for real? or Are you just adding to the "Case Management Meme"?”

You know you’re being trolled, yet you can’t help but double check. LOL

Go with your gut.

It doesnt matter on the pay period. If getting severance, it will just be a continuation of what exists already. As far as a meeting, it will be an impromptu 1-1 setup, usually last minute.

2/29 makes the most sense because of the pay period and months notice period.

Normal 1:1 Meeting, typically in the morning.
I don’t ever recall layoffs on a pay week. I’ve heard 2/15 and 2/29.
