That's not a very convincing lie. Why would they send you a list of everyone getting laid off?
It was over 2,000. I got the list because I was one of them!
Unfortunately, it isn't the bloated level of middle management that's getting cut. It's talented, irreplaceable folk that keep thing working that are getting hit.

I seriously doubt we axed 3,000 people. That's probably over 25% of the company.
300, on the other hand, is easily doable. Once we start merging things together we can start eliminating redundant levels of middle management.
