There is a brewing war at NS to oust the LOADS at the top.

Just voted my proxy. Loads Out -- YES!
It’s the fool me once theory …The STB and FRA have already called BS …I’ve been in the industry 30yrs and since hedge firms have been involved it has been the downfall of our industry. Yet it’s our national infrastructure. “Fool Me Once “ 🤷🏼 0ver 400 a share is ridiculous
NS has been gutting their mechanical forces for decades. Now activists investors will gut management forces!
Railroad right of way should be publicly owned like the interstate highway system.
BNSF gutted their mechanical forces yesterday. A glimpse into the future here if activist investors take over. They can't gut transportation and keep trains running so mechanical will take the brunt of the axe.
The way I hear it Boychuk is married to Hunter Harrison’s niece… back to cuts.
Sounds like Ancora is going to force a change, which I'm guessing now means if they haven't met the 7 percent of management, the next step will be firing some of them, but it likely will involve layoffs. Anything they deem non-essential or program work will end in addition to keeping train length long. Looks like circus is coming back to town and soon.
Boychuk......ughhh
Railroad management is all the same. They don't want to maintain the track, freight cars or locomotives. Their dream is to charge people for using THEIR right of way. A right of way that was given to them by big gu'ment. Railroad companies are the ultimate welfare mamas.
Employment on the railroads peaked in the 1920s at about 2 million and has been declining ever since. Employment now stands at about 235,000.
But no doubt Shaw will reopen all the closed shops!
Correct, I imagine their first order of business to "Create a Safer RR" will be to lay off all the students. Followed quickly by at least a 10% cut in work force across the board, big location and small. Wall Street loves layoffs.
The notion of $420/share is unheard of. There’s zero chance in he-l that it could be sustainable and they’ll have to irreparably destroy and dismantle this company to come anywhere near it. The name of the game is to make short term profits and not worry about the ramifications and consequences of the inevitable long-term losses.
Never forget: above all else, the most important part of PSR is the elimination of manpower. We’ve all seen how this goes. Only a fool would believe that it won’t be much worse than last time. Unfortunately, the only thing the greedy, shortsighted, and ultra-rich people (the ones who vote in favor of the takeover) see is dollar signs.
@op...how quickly some forget what PSR was like for the Craft Employees and Lower Management. You must be only a Shareholder or very high on Seniority and not care what will happen to the lower Senority Employees.
Everyone knows what is going to happen if the proxy is successful. Why else would the STB and FRA already issue statements cautioning the invester group about what they are proposing. They know bringing in a Chief Operating Officer that worked directly with Hunter Harrison shows there ultimate goal just like before. Cut the Company and leave it for the Next Shaw to try and re-build.
East Palestine was a direct result of PSR. I agree the shares will go up. I have shares in the company myself, but I'd rather stay the course with CEO Shaw.
Our company and jobs aren't perfect by no means, but its a whole lot better than it was 3 years ago.
Shaw had no choice but give the workers what they demanded. The stock is expected to reach 305 dollars per share once he is gone.
This admin approved more for the worker than anyone in our history. They know the layoff game is bad longterm and have gotten away from it. Why on earth would you want another PSR team to come in gut everything, make a quick buck and run? If they get in everything goes backwards.
The way Shaw is running it, isn't as quick to make a buck as rest of the industry, but long term more sustainable to grow the business.
You all do what you want come Proxy time, but I'll be voting to keep these guys here...
Maybe Jamie Boychuk will give you a free truck.
60 Minutes needs to do a segment on East Palestine. People are still living with uncertain outcomes, and it is wrong.
Conway DMMO needs to go …….
The COLLEGE boys gettin the axe ?? Bout time. You can’t railroad from an air conditioned office.
DAVE
I got a big ole load brewing and I’m not pulling out either
The latest source said they pulled out already after making a quick buck… idk
The return of PSR with both barrels… not going to be good.
Bout time they get the same treatment we do 😀
The rumor sent the stock up 25 points.
