Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

AI is Monitoring Chevroids NOW

'Depending on where you work, there’s a significant chance that artificial intelligence is analyzing your messages on Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other popular apps.'

Huge U.S. employers such as Walmart, Delta Air Lines, T-Mobile, Chevron and Starbucks
have turned to a seven-year-old startup to monitor chatter among their rank and file, according to the company.

Aware, an AI firm specializing in analyzing employee messages - says these firms have hired it to track sentiment and "weed out toxicity".

Too late now - you've been monitored for a while now.

Badge tracking RTO ? Childs play; the children have been using badge tracking since their inception .... expect glowing IM's from the su-kups starting immediately.

Have a nice day

I have a hamster that runs back and forth on my docking station’s keyboard at home. Sure makes me look busy when I’m out at the grocery store, the gym or ba----g the nextdoor neighbors wife during work hours. This whole WFH thing is the best thing ever, and d-mb@ss Chevron continues to pay me, even after the pandemic has been long over.

Oh Who cares what they are looking at? Just do your job and forget about all the other nonsense management is up to.

Chevron has had access to your emails forever. In 1998 I was flying home from TCO and sat next to an IT guy on the flight to Budapest. He said that they had access to everything. I asked how they reviewed emails and he laughed. He said he didn’t have time to looks at all his own emails, how could they look at others? But over the years I am sure they were able to search key terms and words. And with AI they can know about anything they are interested in knowing for all the company communication platforms. Be careful.

I knew it!!! Always thought it weird to have the CTO and HR being the sponsors for this AI team. AI team doing the work that RM has wanted to do for years.

Unbelievable, the level of mistrust they have put in employees hearts. Keep monitoring. It is very nice feeling when we read from outside how our company is treating us. I will do the minimum of the minimum. The last 2 years, I have not opened work laptop outside of work hours even if the sky is falling.
Way to loose faithful hardworking employees. Yes, you can balance between wall street and employees. Leaning too much towards wall street and creating toxic place among employees will only make things worse for you Chevron. Not for me, I am milking you for now and prparing for a safe exit.

No surprise at all. Digital monitoring of emails (in- and out-going) has been happening for at least 20 years now. Most of that technology was based on keywords. AI ups the ante to look at writing style and thoughts and concepts in your communications.

Next step is to peek at this message board's writing style and compare it to team chats. Watch your step, folks, you know this place is not popular amongst leadership.

To be safe always preface your messages with "leader sent from heaven" and "our intelligent and benevolent leaders", sprinkle in some growth mindset truisms to be safe.

Of course they are. I guess they aren’t getting enough information from the keyloggers and other monitoring apps we have installed in our laptops.
Watch what you type and about whom.

If Chevron was really doing this, I would have been gone a long time ago. I’ve got so many spicy memes on my work phone, this device could melt steel beams.
