Everyone should be curious about how Anthem is remaining compliant with the federal government's onshore data requirements for PHI and PII now that all the jobs are being offshored to Legato in India. Not to say that they aren't compliant, but hopefully the government will take a "trust but verify approach". Auditors really need to take a close look.

You know what’s fun? More than half of our stuff is sent offshore. When we get it back and have to do the rest of the work- we get blasted by auditing for stuff offshore screws up and it counts against US and not them. Stop sending them sh-t if nobody is going to actually monitor their work and hold them accountable.
There used to be a GBD associate that monitored offshore work and offshore environments to ensure compliance but believe she was laid off more than a year ago. She did a great job but not sure how it's being monitored since her RIF.
I noticed, there are offshore associates include in dl-emails set up for production support. Anyone not paying attention can easily send PHI offshore for any government markets that contracts prohibit offshoring PHI. Another issue is so many associates are not familiar with the contracts and don’t ask questions while blindly sending PHI offshore. Are we out of compliance? Absolutely we are.
I don't think outsourcing will be a problem, except to our jobs.
This bank clearly outsources too much, it now buys outsourcing companies.

They've had issues where they coverup from regulators . It's doubtful they are compliant. Very doubtful. But it's one of those things is how is government going to check without a whistle blower.
