Thread regarding USAA layoffs

CEO & Board, why can’t you keep us out of legal trouble???

It’s unfortunate that we just keep getting caught screwing members over! This needs to stop and I’m sorry but Exec Council & Executive leadership from our CEO has egg on their face yet again!

Maybe, if instead of focusing on his personal belief that being in the office for Zoom meetings and instead focus on the things that matter like not taking advantage of our members & NOT breaking the law?

Make an effort!!!!

Wrong PEOPLE (aka leaderships/execs) in a wrong position provides wrong directions. That’s why we’re in the situation we’re in!

The board isnt close enough to the work? They dont need to be! The company is run by incompetent people and it shows! The company is now run by 3rd stringers! You get what what pay for! RTO culture is 1st priority over all else! Compliance, innovation, competitive products and rates all come after! What a boomer run company! Only so long before its bought out..

How can the CEO and Board keep the company out of legal trouble when they can't even recognize an obvious criminal racketeering scheme right in front of their own faces - specifically ESG?

"We also stress out our employees so much that they are traumatized and they end up having a lot of their energy and focus on the crazy which makes them not able to focus on the work."

Agree 💯! I agree with entire post.

There was a lot of start/stop behavior where we would start a feature and then have it pulled. It always struck me that there was so much going on in the "approval" chain that no one could complete these efforts. Totally frustrating and a waste of good talent!

Remember when they said everyone would be trained up on their newest technology (AWS)? It barely got started when they pulled away from it. They went through discussions that I even heard about whether staff would leave USAA if they were so well-trained! The message being that they would not invest, keep their current staff d-mb, and then do exactly what they are currently doing (trumped up layoff/firing and then 3rd party hiring).

Staying at USAA is career su----e.

The company doesn’t know how to hire, retain, and utilize people. They think we have a strong risk and compliance culture. We don’t. People keep saying we do because they either do not understand how to evaluate it, have people in leadership from banks that had issues, people who have risk knowledge in roles they aren’t utilized, or don’t want to be the one to challenge and say what needs to be said. We also stress out our employees so much that they are traumatized and they end up having a lot of their energy and focus on the crazy which makes them not able to focus on the work. If you are being hunted by a lion, you’re not going to be thinking about anything else cuz that stress is the main threat/focus.

Just a thought, but to keep the company out of legal trouble we'd need competent people in the CEO/Board roles.

I don’t think the CEO and Board are the ones close enough to the work to build compliant processes. That would be … you.

Reminds me of the movie Liar Liar,
"Stop breaking the law, A--hole!"
It's really that simple.
