So apparently, the SLT isn't happy about the (slow) rate of early adoption (by employees) of Microsoft Copilot (AI) tools so far.
Primarily this has been Copilot for git (developers) and Copilot for MS Office.
You mean we don't trust our company with AI, when the first use case is to learn about how to do your job for you?
This is the same cr-p as years ago when we were forced to Indians and sold to us as freeing us up to do more important things. Which ended up in Americans losing their jobs. Now it’s AI being sold as something to remove our mundane tasks but will eliminate jobs in long run as it matures
if you can use AI to do your job
then I would say your a great layoff candidate
AI seems great for those too lazy to google and tabulate results with your own brain and effort
Also accepting an AI answer as valid means you make a good sheep
Garbage in = garbage out
AI will be used to see what jobs, roles, programs, etc that are actually needed. This includes management too. AI will stream line everything. If your role/position is needed it show objectively. For those needed roles AI will speed up repairs and troubleshooting. This will happen every industry. How one can look at it is that if you are busy everyday you will be ok and AI will improve your efforts. Yes things are changing for operations but also for the telecom industry. Transport of services, providing access to the cloud, is changing. The last mile problem still exists but the customers are gaining more options. The CLECs and ILECs are being forced to modernize or disappear.
I don't want AI creating customer content by pulling data from our intranet document libraries when most of those materials have not been updated in years.
