5% Salary reduction without notice - HR is clueless

Interesting things happen at DXC. Was promoted and got a raise - great! What I was not told me was, that I would need to work longer hours. So, 5.26% of more work - just quietly assumed without anyone ever telling me. That ate a really good part of my raise. Had I know this, I would have

  1. declined the position
  2. declined the extra work during private hours being part of moving to the the position
  3. declined the raise that essentially was not much more.

"Funny" thing is, that I was even never granted the position in the end due to "process issues". But of course my extra hours were in the contract - and I was never notified about these. Hence I got the 5% pay cut due to moving up a level. Did the extra work. And that was it.

Speak up on Linkedin , Facebook or X so investors and others take notice. No one outside of DXC looks here.

This site should be used to help others find jobs outside of DXC. not a place to bunch for 10 years same shot different day

You get more responsibly, you get more hours it’s the name of the game. If you don’t understand that you out of touch with reality

Meanwhile the rate cards have all had their usual annual contractual uplift. The company now charges my client around 50% more for my time than it did the last time I got a pay rise. Costs haven't increased they don't even pay to light and heat office space for us.

And they wonder why nobody gives a stuff about going the extra mile for DXC!

When they start respecting people and recognising and financially rewarding a job well done again, the downward trajectory might change. But I suspect it's all too little to late. And time to let another company have a go.

Is it in your contract? If not, then decline to do the extra hour(s). Assuming you're in the UK they can't just terminate you if you've worked there for more than 2 years

OP, you are a chump yes? Much free work you continue to do while rewarding the worthless, no?

It happens to the best of us that still care to deliver and excel at the level we work. I guess we see what happens in the next quarter. I feel like the last clown hall showed where the grunts are in terms of keep on keeping on.

That's standard procedure. Mike Salvino and Finchy Salvino refer to that as "Looking after our people"

They used to say that on the town halls and analysts calls.

They got round it by not saying which Peopleton rewarded, What they meant was they looked after the people in the Ex Accenture gang.

The gang was rewarded handsomely, more than many other successful executives in the industry who were growing thier companies.

Over a 4 year period they raided the DXC bank by around $250 million at the same time telling folks the company hasn't met targets and there's no raises for them.

You wonder why they took that much money when targets weren't met.
