Does having INTC on resume automatically rejects your application ? Are employers biased on not hiring Intel engineers. I'm from OR

Anecdote, but I’ve found it quite the opposite.
Back during the Great CPMing of ‘22, I put a few feelers out and started entertaining some recruiter emails as a “just in case”. Everyone told me how much they loved hiring out of Intel. I got an offer on a job I didn’t apply for, and made it to the final round/offer on 2 of 6 applications.
I turned them all down after I wasn’t CPM’d. Did the math, and my current salary + bonus ended up being the same or more than 2 of the offers even after negotiations and the third would have meant moving to CA. Wasn’t worth walking away from my RSUs. But the jobs and interest in hiring current and ex-Intel are out there.
One caveat I think is if you’re CPMd. Everyone internal and external knows what that means; it’s like the mark of death, no matter how much Intel plays the “it’s not you, it’s me” card. If you think you’re up for CPM, best get out in front of it.
🙄
Jeez I hired a person from Intel who got CPM’d and now I know why they got CPM’d!!
All I can say is that Intel did this person a disservice. They got pushed through and every company they go to they will never cut it and never be more than a mediocre contributor.
In case you haven’t noticed , many
companies are working out of the same playbook .
And it’s not the one that includes hiring on well paid employees with benefits .
Maybe the job market for Power Point engineers is difficult.
Very true. Don’t believe it? Take Intel off of your resume and Linked-In and watch how many MORE interviews you get.
Join Uber to drive new cars instead of dealing with broken chips
They know you’re not a real engineer.
It's kind of like saying you got your degree at Berkley...
A certain company everyone is envious of is still hiring.
I’m in OR too, didn’t have too much trouble getting out of Intel. Try and sell yourself based on what you did, and don’t act like you bleed blue. The company is failing so the name won’t get you anywhere, and you don’t want to get pegged as arrogant in an interview
It’s a rough job market out there right now.
Who would want employees from a parasitic id--tic cesspool
It’s true. I have referred few people. Candidate does not even get interview call or email saying your resume not short listed.
Irony.
