Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Its a chaos here

Our location is in total disarray this week. No work getting done, just people talkong about the layoffs, reorg and what-ifs. Were probably all out of here in a few weeks. Heck, the headquarters “leadership” is probably out too. It definitely has the feeling of the end. Stick a fork in it.

Recap if you are an investor sell before earnings call....

Post from TheLayoff.com

You have to think about it from an investor standpoint. SB doesn't answer to the employees, he answers to the BoD and, indirectly, to stockholders. They want maximum return on their investment. In the past, this was from dividends and increases in the stock price. Today, X is rapidly running out of cash to support the dividend, and declining business results are keeping the stock price from going higher.

SB, and the BoD, are likely shopping some or all of the company for a sale. X needs cash NOW, so don't be fooled by "IT Services" that will take years to create a product, market it, and sell it. What IT products does X have right now that are any better than what's already in the market? Nothing. It's just more smoke and mirrors by SB to keep the hamsters running on the wheel a little longer, just to use up time while a buyer for the company is found.

And hardware? Laughable. Fujjjjii cut us off, and Lexmark doesn't have the larger A3 or Production devices where most of the profit is. And HP owns the smaller A4 market. So hardware won't save us either.

Best case, spin everything off to the partner/dealer channels and skim a profit off the top for using the brand name. But that would mean cuts in the 80% range, not the 15% that was just announced.

Stevie don't care about you or your family all ge cares about is claiming victory that he sold the company in three parts so he can go back to Columbia a "success". These types of psycho need t be brought up on charges for the stress to the employees and families he has inflicted he don't care will do it again somewhere else if offered...

“Things are expected to break.”
How could they be more broken than they are?
When does SB accept his responsibility for the way things are? Its not like he arrived last week. Go back and look at the sh:t he has said since he got to Xerox. He didnt have a clue nor did JV or any of the bozos that came with him.

Insider here in Webster absolute ghost town no one working orders being canceled due to no progress escalations are getting the finger reps ate telling the customer to just go with hp or other if they actual want a warm body on site. I'm in 207 never seen this place so bad. If you drive on campus prepare to buy new shocks pot holes everywhere looks very low rent very depressing. I think the jig is up there is nothing left to auction off even Gil hatch demo center at idle no planned demos. This is the worst I have seen it been here for 28 years planning to take the voluntary / go on the list thus ain't gonna improve people they ate going to break it up / sell off folks....

Activity has been dead since first week in December, and this announcement will make it even worse until the layoff names are announced and people know if they're "safe" or not.

But even if you aren't on the list in February, you need to be looking for another job because the Q1 list will not be the last. There are already discussions about what needs to be done in Q2 to cut expenses and more headcount reductions are on the table because there's nothing left to cut.

SB said just this week that there will be more pain and things are expected to "break" because of this first layoff round. That sounds like things are pretty bad, and also sounds like they're preparing everyone for more cuts.

Grow the business - get rid of staff
We care about the people - get rid of staff.
Bad quarter 4 - get rid of staff

Bad management to announce a cut - then little action on any real changes-no real plan of action. No one in my location is doing anything. Wait and see. Very bad for people and bad for business. Not good - more bad sr mgt decisions - they just don't get it.

No big deal if we have a disastrous Q1.... we're Xerox, everyone knows January is supposed to be slow. BTW, SB said it himself a few townhalls ago, we can have bad quarter after bad quarter, even bad decades.... we're Xerox.
