Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Look for a new job while there are still options available

I accidentally stumbled upon a job that really piqued my interest and several interview rounds later, I have a job offer. The pay is not as good, but I'll be honest with you, all I want to do is get rid of the mental stress. If that means taking a good and interesting job that pays a little less, I see no issues with that. And if I hadn't started looking already, I would not have had this opportunity. My advice is, if you're unhappy, start looking. As of now, there are still some good jobs available.

I've been looking for 6 plus months, and received only 2 offers. Both of which were lower than my current pay. Wish I can find a better job, but it's been pretty hard.

I just left AIG and negotiated a 27k a year increase, a new hire bonus and PTO.

You should try negotiating a better salary. AIG isn't one of the higher paying places. I got a 20% increase when I left.

Good luck!
