I just got an ominous email from someone other than my supervisor requesting a skip level meeting with just me on thursday.
Im terrified this is my notice.
Have any of you heard anything?

My direct manager was NOT on my RIF call in Sept. Only my SVP and HR.
as fyi, all those company reviews are confidential but they are not private. Read the fine print.
Why I also rate 5 stars for everthing. Works for many years.
Play the game. Kind of stupid, but as someone that was behind the scenes, there was effort to find out who gave bad reviews.
Like I said. Its Confidential but not private.
Did the 87 from the Woodland Hills office get laid off today or is that still to come?
It wasnt a RIF it was to talk about moving. I am a manager guys and can assure you none of us know anything and are just as stressed and scared as the rest.
Im sorry for those who did get hit today lots of people very close to home..
It it's to get info on your manager, keep you comments to yourself. On my team, everyone who spoke out about poor management, got the rif.... so did the manager 🤔
For the OP, good luck and keep us posted
CA requires a 60 day notice, so that 10/30/23 date would not cover that legal requirement of a Nov 2023 RIF.
@2ofe+1qtXJH7J
That CA WARN notice was filed 10/30/2023, and received in Nov 2023 by CA DOL. So that’s from last year’s Oct RIF round.
The Warn Act lists 87 employees at 12115 Burbank Blvd Woodland Hills effective 03/29/2024.
I must be out of it. What is this skip level and equity adjustments you speak of ?
in response to @puy+1qtXJH7J ... you are WRONG. The situation described by the OP is a clear sign of a RIF. My meeting was scheduled on a Monday for a Thursday by my VP, my manager's manager (skip level).
Some others have reported having a discussion about equity pay adjustment, so that could be it, but your manager would be involved.
Good luck.
this is unlikely a RIF/term. in my experience, skip levels are scheduled when the higher-up is looking to suss out problems in the team or looking to connect for whatever reason. given that this follows the employee survey, it's probably something like that.
if you were being riffed it would be a 15 minute meeting with your direct supervisor, with HR joining unbeknownst to you.
i wouldn't worry too much about it. take this with a grain of salt, but my experience is that the biggest thing to worry about with a skip level is being put on the spot re your job satisfaction.
Call in sick that day, play hard to get.. who's the invite from. Your allowed to ask them what the meeting is for . Inquire with your boss. Doesn't seem like they would do
a meeting invite four days out
Also reach out to your manager and ask them. Being on a Thursday or a non pay week would jive with previous RIFs but they usually don’t schedule the meeting 4 days out.
Have you reached out to other team members asking if they got an invite?
Im housed under the claims operations umbrella
You mind sharing details about your department or organization? Is it one of IT, Finance, Claims, Nursing, Clinical, CRE, etc.?
My RIF invite was sent the day prior to the meeting and the invite was only for 15 mins. If you feel like you're going to be a part of the RIF, go ahead and start looking for jobs now and get your resume in order. Good luck and keep us posted!
