Thread regarding ViaSat Inc. layoffs

How are things at Viasat these days?

I was laid off last year. How are things going at Viasat after all the layoffs, merger, and satellite failures? Just curious.

Is stock even an incentive anymore? How much money do you need before it doesn't matter? Years of 100% bonuses and stock options that have already been sold has surely fattened up the accounts of the executives. Seems like the wrong people were layed off.

Guru is a buffoon. EBITDA is the most BS metric out there as it doesn't factor in operating costs. Not even a GAAP. Won't see it on any companies financial sheet. And Viasat always references it in all their financial BS. Even last quarter earnings were good, but operating costs put them in the red.

Guru is was bad hire character. Viasat is downhill there is bigger competition from amazon few other player in market that provide faster ISP in rural areas, which Viasat hopes to grab onto.

Why is the stock fluctuating at all? Have there been any material developments?

Stock price collapsing again, as the S&P hits record highs. Probably another fiscal EOY layoff coming in March.

Another round of layoffs should really improve things. The beatings will continue until moral improves.

Is it just me or are we hearing less from Guru nowadays?

Also the RTO is dependent on the group. Some are mandating it, others are not.

Although is su-ks looking for a new job, I am glad that I got laid off. Their culture blows.

If they do return-to-office, which is out of character for Viasat's old culture, in effect a "volunteer" reduction-in-force?

Guru and his c-suite pals, full of "fresh" ideas (the kind you pick out of your shoe after you walk Fido). When is his pink slip?

Legacy Viasat is dead. Just talked to someone today who openly talked of how much the “culture” has changed and not for the better. He seemed pretty demoralized by it all. No vision anymore, just the same old bullsh-t from Guru, how he ever “led” a company is beyond me. Nothing exciting, nothing hopeful. The VS3 launch might as well not even have happened. Like someone mentioned future VS3 launches are absent from any conversation. Feels like radio silence until the next round of layoffs. Now it’s just people huddling in their silos waiting for the next shoe to drop. It’s sad how quickly it all unraveled.

The Inmarsat integration IS the saving grace, pretty much every positive announcement of the last 6 months is attributed to Inmarsat… I guess it depends if the leadership destroys that value with its current lack of direction and awful culture 🤷🏼‍♂️

Still the same exec messages that GEO is competitively better and we have unique competitive advantages. Enduring tone deafness on biz we're losing to LEO. Agreed with the post that nobody knows or is convinced where we are headed.

It’s just weird. Not much morale. No one really knows what’s going on or where we’re headed

VS3 is a wash and hardly spoken of anymore. Everyone is all in on the Inmarsat integration and sort of advertised internally as our saving grace. Guru felt the need to mention to mention EBITDA during his christmas message to the company so take that for what is worth. It's all going in a different direction from what you have probably known from back then
