The constant reorgs, goal changing, and mismanagement from the EMT is bad enough. But you know what makes days in office truly unbearable? Our fellow low level employees who are still optimistic about this place and high on the PURPLE kool aid.
I’m not talking even mid-level management, even though their proclamations of “we need to keep doing what we’re doing for the company to succeed” are sickening. I’m talking the average employee who comes in every morning beaming “Hello Crown Family!” and getting mad at anyone who criticizes the company because we’re being “negative.” The ones who insist they’re going to “wait and see what happens” as if the writing hasn’t been on the wall for months because this place “isn’t so bad” and “management isn’t awful” and they’re too afraid to contemplate a future without PURPLE running through their veins.
It’s these members of the PURPLE Cult, who turn a blind eye toward everything and insist things are going to be fine despite the warning signs flashing and the building being on fire - despite the fact they’ll be hurt in the long run by this place’s mismanagement too - that make coming into the office truly unbearable.
I used to moderate my feelings and what I said to these people, but no more. I’m not part of a destructive cult and I’m not putting on that pretense anymore no matter how upset it makes people. If you can’t deal with the “negativity” too bad. I can’t deal with the constant “positivity” when Crown has given us no reason for it.
And to those who say “if you don’t like it, get another job”, what do you think everyone left with a brain at Crown is trying to do? If it was that easy, Crown would be left with 100 total employees tomorrow because everyone with a brain cell left would’ve already jumped ship. Trust me, the majority of us are looking. And if you were smart, you would be too.
