It's no longer people in India or wherever else, now it's AI. The leadership will always find ways to get rid of employees, even if the replacement is something that is yet to be fully developed and even understood. Who wants to bet this comes back to bite them in the a-s?

Sooner or later we all go to graveyards. Why do you care? Let the AI take over or take care your graveyards lawns and clean it up.
AI good or bad? Who's the first entity that will abuse AI and has an abundance of resources to do so? They are also the biggest threat to you and your family. Far bigger then any foreign actor.
Hint: It starts with "gov" and ends with "ernment".
I think AI can be good or bad. He-l knows? Can it replace you or lay you off? Probably yes or probably no. The truth is stupid managers can lay you off at anytime if you are smart than them regardless of the present of AI or not.
And you thought the zombie apocalypse would be viral. Nah, AI will usher in the Era of an even lazier, more impatient, socially stunted, and academically weak population. But hey, at least some money to be had sabotaging the next generation like the boomers did to their children.
AI will su-k and drain your intelligent to train them until you become so dump before the stupid managers decide to lay you off.
Greed and stupidity will rob you of your job long before AI does.
The nice thing about AI is that it won't make lame excuses to take time off or WFH.
Lame BB excuse #1 - I think I am catching a cold and will be WFH today. I'll be reachable by IM or email (yeah right, LOL!).
Lame BB excuse #2 - My cat Fluffy is sick and I need to take her to the vet. I'll be reachable by IM or email (but not really).
Lame employee excuse #3 - My team and I are going on a cruise at Intel's expense (because we're special and you aren't). I'll be OOP from ____ to ____, and when I get back I'll be sick again and WFH.

If you are afraid that AI will be used to eventually replace you, you are probably right. Unless retirement is within reach you should be working on developing skills to work within an AI field or skills that won't be replaced by AI. The truth is that most STEM, legal, and medical careers, to name a few, will be impacted over time. Not everyone in those fields will get replaced but large swaths of entry and grunt level employees will be. The good news is that AI is nowhere near ready to do this yet. It needs more and more compute power with each new development which drives its cost up and the results from AI can be horrendously wrong. i.e. an EV in full auto drive mode. A new reality exists in the world going forward, you are no longer done learning just because you received a college degree. Going forward it is all about continuing education and those who adapt.
Smart people use $100 cell phone while the stupid people have to pay for $1000 smart phone for talking.
Smart people use real human intelligence to do things while stupid people use artificial intelligence everywhere.

You are wrong. AI is artificial intelligent which is fake intelligent, not real human intelligence. It's intelligence can fake anything human can think of. It can fake you to login into your computer or bank to steal your money. No, it won't make you get laid off. The stupid managers can make you get laid off. Stay away from fake intelligence.

Managers don't know shiitt about AI. My AI algorithm program reported silicon problems and the manager told me it is my problems, not Intel silicon. Intel silicon never have a problem.
Management has always had a hard-on for automation solutions capable of replacing or employees or reducing headcount, and AI offers the ultimate automation solutions.
Of course, management's usual argument is that automation frees up employee time for more important tasks, but we all know that's a load of horsesh-t.
Managers routine works should be easily replaced by AI. I hope Intel can let go a bunch of power points managers.
Can we just replace the employees in India and China with AI?
AI recommends to file lawsuites about Intel illegal business activities to protect your jobs or escalate further to start an investigation inside its bussiness.
if you are at risk of being replaced by artificial "intelligence", it means your work is not very valuable anyway.
I would start with managers, who turn single sentence thought into an email full of buzzwords.
Do we need VPs when AI can write the next org announcement or reply to QGS questions?
My years at Intel were spent in validation; studying tech docs, writing test plans & tests, running tests, debugging failures, etc .. all very fertile ground for AI.
