A few of us have received strange vague meeting invites from our manager for next week.
Does anyone know if RIFs are planned?

The warm act applies when 50 I believe or more associates are impacted from one office location (pulse point).
I was a CA associate but in a smaller office due to where I lived. I was assigned Costa mesa.
As a result I was not included in the WARN act. Elevance was sneaky about it because somehow they made it so that they can consider each office it's own entity so WARN would not apply.
Several on my team were laid off and WARN applied and therefore they were given another 39 days with Pay before officially being laid off and supplemental pay can begin...
I got let go in Sept and can only tell you what happened to me. After hours on a Wed, a morning meeting was scheduled bu my Staff VP. There was an HR guy on the call, but was not listed in the meeting invite. I was given 30 days and then they corrected it due to the WARN ACT. I am in CA. So officially my last day was 12/15/23. I worked out of the Woodland Hills office. A team member also got let go who was in CA, but a different office and the WARN ACT did not apply to her. She is younger, so maybe it had to do with age or maybe only the Woodland Hills office got caught? I am unsure. I did get severance. 4 weeks on the top and a week and a 1/2 for every year employed. It's a rough time, but there is life after layoffs...stay as positive as possible!
I am READY. Desk cleaned out, shoes on, let's go.
The equity adjustment has nothing to do with cost of living. The company evaluates the compensation across the enterprise for associates in similar roles and makes changes accordingly.
There are RIF's coming this month and in March.
The wording stated that my salary was compared to other nurses in my geographic area who do similar roles. I have not moved or relocated. I work in GBD. It was not a large increase by any means. Less than 1%. I was just posting to possibly help explain unexpected meetings.
What was the reason given for the "equity" increase? Equitable to what, in comparison?
To @4cjx+1qpRd12G who posted about Equity Adjustment (COL raise), did you move to a higher cost of living metro area? What department and what group from among Elevance, Carelon, AIM-CarelonMBM, Carelon Health, AFC?
I didn't hear anything until today, but yes, there's another round of RIFs this week. I hope this isn't the case for you.
to @4cjx+1qpRd12G: an equity pay adjustment is NOT a cost of living increase.
I just had an unexpected MTG with my manager and it was an equity adjustment (cost of living raise).
Hey All, if 'IT' happens and you have any questions or need help, assistance, I'm here for you. Just went through it so I may be able to help where I can .
Blessings
Yes, 100% true there are layoffs happening next week. And confirmed to continue throughout 2024.
This is in GBD but we are scattered to many different offices.
I know other teams in GBD are being called forth to justify their staffing levels.
CA associates get a 60 day notice before their final termination date. Unless they are starting them early then January 29 would be the RIF date for CA people. Would likely be the 25th since that is a Thursday on a non-pay week.
This lines up with the WARN Act posted in California for those in the LA office (Burbank Blvd Pulse point). The WARN submission filed states 87 "layoff permanent" with a termination date of 3/29/24. For those who got vague meeting emails for next week what offices/location are you in?
Yes, layoffs next week. I know for a fact. Don’t know which business units/departments - HR and leadership are being very secretive about what’s coming.
Will the equity adjustment be upward or downward? CEO’s New Year note (2024) has optimizing our cost structure as the first critical area of priority.
More layoffs?!?
I've had one colleague tell me she heard rumors about RIFs in the second week of January, and that lines up... good luck. :(
What is an equity adjustment?
There are some associates receiving equity adjustments. These need to be communicated by the end of next week. Could be driving the vague meeting invites.
Unless you have a scheduled one on one meeting with your manager then I would say expect the worst and hope for the best. You will know once an HR rep jumps into the meeting.
