That one was relatively easy as they weren't hired for skills, just for being agreeable in the "have zero marketing expertise but I will join the look at me look at me marketing strategy with enthusiasm" team. So as soon as they were handed real responsibilities they couldn't survive a PIP because they spent all of their time self promoting.
They've been quietly managing out a handful of people on PIPs. Not as many as the industry does, because they have so many layoffs they don't need to use PIPs as an excuse. As of late, they've just used the PIPs for a few special people.
