I work as a SR Director in workforce planning and Layoff's for 2024 are coming down the pipeline. Just in time for company wide payouts. They need to give these poor people notice and not 2 weeks! SMH... Already looking on my end for a new gig UHG/Optum is a mess.

Look for managers and directors with less than 8-10 people reporting to them to be let go in the next few weeks. if you are an individual contributor, polish up your resume.
OH = Optum Health. Can you elaborate on why they're at risk?
What department is OH?
I heard OH is in trouble
I agree with your assessment of the situation at Optum for onshore employees. Maintain skill development, leverage training opportunities, and actively explore new positions elsewhere is sound and actionable. Viewing Optum as a stepping stone can be a pragmatic approach.Acquire valuable skills, experience, and connections that can be leveraged for better external opportunities. While it's unfortunate that Optum may not offer long-term career satisfaction, the skills and experience gained there can be valuable assets in the job market. Work hard at lining up the next gig, and wait for the RIF or simply move on. Control your fate.
Replying to the post below, jobs are not getting lost but being outsourced. They are lost in US only.
Adds $$ bonus to US VPs. And kickbacks to offshore VPs.
There is a coordinated effort going on in my division to push all US staff out replaced by Wipro.
If this is true, Jan 11 it is so sad. We are very profitable. Insecurity and losing productive co-workers. An extra Holiday (when we lost days on acquisition) and a discount at the company store? Not the kind of appreciation and gratitude I'm used to for bringing in the kind of revenue I do. Please, No More in 2024!
Why do they redeploy some employees rather than lay them off?
Any in the Home & Community market?
Jan 11 is the day
OptumRx was, is and will always be a sh!t show.
Probably right before bonus payout. Optum has a history of this
Honestly this isn’t surprising at all. All major business segments are gonna be forced to chop excess regardless of their productivity score.
Can you be more specific about departments and markets?
What departments?
How soon are we talking? Like Thursday Jan 4th?
