Several of us cogs here volunteered to be let go, and were denied.

Can you ask to be laid off? This company is incompetent and is not a great company to retire with.

Ha! You trollers are obviously here because you enjoy reading the comments of those who were fired to increase your faux sense of self-worth. And you are WORRIED!

Because someone who is 1. Giving their job and members all of their attention and 2. Confident in their job would even be here.

Now, the 6 or 7 of you can press the down arrow on that! 😆

There are plenty of people that still need to go. Many of them are posting repeatedly on this site.

It’s ok to be unhappy in your job or with your employer/company. But you need to own your own life choices. You choose to remain at Centene. Nobody is forcing you to stay. If you’re so smart and employable why not just leave?

Instead of fixing it for yourself you just complain anonymously.

You ARE the problem.

3szc+1qkvqudO WHY are you here!?

You should not only be working, but you should be trusting the information that has been provided to you by your current employer...RIGHT!? SURELY everything they've told you in the town halls and emails can be trusted...RIGHT!?

Trust me. NO ONE is remotely envious of you being employed right now. Those let go have something at the start of this new year that you don't have with a paycheck...PEACE OF MIND, and a future full of opportunity.

Trust and believe that we are looking, and when one door closes another swings wide open.

And one last thing. Take a good look at the seat those of us laid off people are sitting in. You'll be here soon.

Looks like I hit a nerve… You are the problem. The employees that were axed 10% of these employees should still be employed at Centene No doubt they work harder than you!!!! You should be working yet you are on the Centene Layoffs webpage. Something tells me reading these comments increases your confidence in an employer who failed to maintain a STAR rating that keeps people employed!!! Centene a “BANKRUPT MONEY GUZZLER SINKING SHIP”…

Maybe you should get over yourself. Maybe you are reporting back? Maybe you should be spending your time looking for work instead of resenting the people that didn't get the axe? Maybe just maybe those still employed don't have a job lined up because for some stupid reason they thought their employer had more respect for them & had some semblance of job security rather than to be low down and dirty by blindsiding them with firing them? Now everyone is on alert 24 hrs because Centene couldn't just be forthright to begin with. Maybe they have a right to be here just as much as those laid off to try to prepare for the next wave while simultaneously trying to find alternative employment before it happens? WTF?

Why is a Centene Employee who still has their job be on this platform? Unless, you are on the inside reporting back all of the comments to your leadership! Centene is a “SINKING SHIP”. Get over yourself. You could be the next one laid off. Wake up and smell the coffee. In 2 years, Sarah has managed to sc--w the lives of countless 1,000’s, who are getting severance packages. No doubt Centene will be bankrupt by the end of 2025.

Medicare ratings are 3.5 not 2.5.

The money maker for the past decade has been Ambetter plans for Centene. Medicaid second and last Medicare. It's a fact I am certain of.

Medicare STAR ratings 2.5 stars… Centene is Medicaid dominant and second on Medicare. 2025 is not like it’s next week, so YOU and your Colleagues are safe for now…

Medicare is not going anywhere. Medicaid on the other hand - well Centene is being sued by various states for payment denials, overcharging on Rx amongst other things. Medicaid is constantly being dropped by providers because it doesn't pay and the coverage is cr-p for the members it claims to be serving. That and the crazy drop in recerts is going to ki-l them - they banked off Covid and now not so much. Then again maybe they will have a rise in enrollment now that they will have tons of ex-employees they laid off that may need it. But don't kid yourself in thinking that they care about low income families/individuals because they sure as he-l don't. The distance of their "care" only goes as deep as these poor people can fill up their pockets w/$$.

Drew said there would be another round of layoffs in the 1st quarter of 2024. Centene is just another subpar health plan committed to serving Medicaid populations and eventually remove Medicare plans completely by the end of 2025.

I highly doubt that anyone forgot about those people. More likely they didn't know because I certainly didn't know about the April layoff. I had no idea that anyone was laid off in August 2023 either. Their goal is or was to make sure no one knew (which is why no one knew about the most recent until it was leaked).

At a previous company I worked for (not healthcare related), we were laid off 3 months after they brought in external (3rd party contractor) agents to work the same accounts as my internal team.

My primary state (1st time Medicaid claims) now has external agents (3rd party contractors) working (and fu--ing up) the same claims my team and I work as of this week. I'm taking it as a sign that I have 3-6 months left at Centene before losing my job.

Everyone seems to forget the people laid off in April!! We at least didn’t have to work till a certain time as they used the additional layoffs to get through AEP which is rumored to have been horrible for Centene this year. Good!! The sales leaders who weee behind all the previous success left in early 2023 and look what happens!

Thank you , finally someone else sees there was no reporting to WARN ACT since 2021…

Rumours were that there will be additional layoffs in 2024. It would probably be best to not rely on rumours though. Centene has made itself clear that they have no concern for its employees on a grand scale. I had no idea they laid off thousands of people in August '23 with their last days working in October '23. I would have had no idea they were going to lay off thousands of people in September '23 with their last days working in December '23 if it had not been leaked to the media. They also got around reporting RE: the WARN Act. My advice (not that anyone is asking for it) is to prepare like your going to get laid off while you look for another position somewhere else.
