Any more layoffs coming up in the 2nd half of 2024? What happened to Medicare coming on board?

Tons of Cigna layoffs as part of their Global Partnership initiative 1000’s of US employees have been let go within the last 2 weeks & more to come!

Here to confirm another round of casualties. This one includes staff within BH coaching and complex case management under Foster. Supervisors from coaching and complex are amongst the unfortunate. It is very difficult to watch this occur repeatedly, let alone to dedicated individuals with decades of service under their belts. Business is business - we all know the saying… but this is really just a familiar and saddening display of greed.

To the commentator asking about WARN tracking sites. Typing in Google “cigna warn” followed by a state is the best way to get a link. I don’t think there is one main search for all the US in one database.

I’m pretty sure cigna isn’t showing up due to them not laying off the minimum amount of people at one site on one day.

Spread out the layoffs avoid the warn act. That’s just my guess though.

Does anyone have a good WARN tracking website? All the ones that I can find don't have any info for Cigna on them. And Cigna should be on at least one of them. That is, if Cigna is following the law, which is difficult for them to do.

"Should have eliminated new hires on the team first."

Why? Why would you have been more deserving of keeping your job than them?

Job got eliminated in Jan after 24 years. Was told right after 4 or 5 new hires came on the team. Why were there new hires and then I get eliminated? That doesn't seem right. Should have eliminated new hires on the team first.

remote job? Overseas workers possibly?

6 offshore reps are the equivalent of 1 onshore reps salary. Not to mention AI constantly clearing out claims, member & client concerns, legitimate issues needing resolved and reviewed domestically by a human. It’s about bottom dollar, employees have always been referred to as numbers, traded like baseball cards this will never change!

They started training the first batch of over seas external analysts today for Quality! If you thought appeals was a joke now BCC & grievances will be also! Expect layoffs in June. What doesn’t get closed and marked completed by AI will be worked in India.

Don't ask about layoffs on Fishbowl, you'll get reported. Literally only asked if there were folks let go on 1/18 and someone reported it. Guess someone has someone in their pocket.

@lbbi+1qkj7Onz, sorry to hear you were let go. Some people have said same thing. HR advise 30 days, but second you are back at your desk, management advises log off. I suspect that's the way they are working it out. Management does not want you to have chance to spread the word and disrupt work. So inhumane!

Received my notice yesterday after 20+ years. They provided the package and it’s so confusing - to meet their needs.
Management tells you to log off - you’re done. Paperwork states you are expected to perform your role until your termination date, which is a 30 day notice that helps with the WARN Policy.

Any news on people let go today? Usually we know of someone that had been laid-off, but it's been quiet today

Advice to people who think they will be cut. If you happen to be in a role that is dependent on you to do something important. I am sure you were asked to either create a Job Aid or P&P that explains it. My advice is give enough general information to explains the process, but don't give out your secret details that make you efficient and successful. If you are let go, (which I was last year) you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that Cigna can't replicate your same level quality of work you worked hard to create. I enjoy getting texts from former colleagues months later about how things aren't working they way it used to. Meanwhile I took my severance and found another job and love it!

That news article is intriguing and potentially very maddening, but what is the source? I'm only seeing that one article on Google search by the one guy (Sergei Polevikov). Trying to figure out if it's legit.

Everyone ready for the final push to Drive to 2025? Where the company basically gets to where they wanted to be and kicks most of the people that did all of the work to the curb?

First blood bath in less than 48 hours, second is Feb 22nd. Looks like roughly every 4 weeks from here on out until the end of the year. And regardless of what any band 5+ tells you, don’t necessarily believe them, they’ll lie straight to your face. They are coached to do just that.

HR conducts a training session each month to go over what they have to do, when, what they can say, etc. They are basically given a script and not to deviate from it. One was held on Jan 11th. If you get a meeting invite between the hours of 6-9am from management, assume it’s to let you go.

I've only been with the company 8 month, but I hate the job and I'm not real thrilled with the company after learning about the AI auto denial debacle. Do they ever do voluntary layoffs? I'm ready to go.

"You can speak compassion and caring for your customers and clients, but need to extend a little of that to the individuals delivering on your promises."

This. I can't take any initiatives that have marketing about caring for customers/clients or patients and their families or diversity and inclusivity seriously after this last year. If you don't care about your employees, why should they care about this company and its work? At this point, I'm here because I need to pay my bills and will be out the door when I find better or I get laid off, whichever happens first.

In the Technology area…and there are 11 Directors for very few employees. Top heavy. Maybe I’ll stay around to see the fall of this regime, maybe I won’t. I’m at the point where I couldn’t care less. The morale is so bad and everyone is looking elsewhere. I heard someone say last week that after being here for almost 30 years, this was not the morals and ethics of the company they came to work for. You can speak compassion and caring for your customers and clients, but need to extend a little of that to the individuals delivering on your promises.

“I am a director in technology. Definitely layoffs coming, Jan 18 is a confirmed date, and more end of February. I don’t have any other details on which areas or if it’s business, IT or both.”

Have the personnel decisions already been made?

I truly have no idea but that would make too much sense. It’s probably political or something silly, as usual.

The sad thing is there are severely bloated departments where lay-offs could happen. There are other departments that are run very tightly. If they would more closely at this instead of implementing strategies to see if people are actually working, then it could have made a difference. But the wrong folks have historically been scrutinized.

I’m no business person - I’m clinical - so maybe there are things I can’t see. But overall, I think there are some people in high places who are out of touch.

I believe it was $172 million, not billion. If it were billion, Cigna would’ve been wiped off the map.

I would also like to know more about this January 18th layoff date. Can anyone provide more details?

They are trying to sell their Medicare side maybe it’s to pay the state of California it’s lawsuit they won for $172 billion in denied Medicare claims!! Think about it. No one is safe start looking for backup plans if you are nurse and your metrics constantly aren’t meeting their check box requirements I would start looking for new work. Good luck to those this affects yet again, the grass is greener and their are jobs where you can take your breaks, don’t work over and are valued

Yes, there will be layoffs. Names were already submitted to HR to be laid off. Employees will be told in February and June. They need to make room to hire cheaper labor in India.
