@3fyc+1qkS6BSZ Most claims are already auto adjudicated when they come in. The claims that were not auto adjudicated is what the focus is on. Generally, these need additional research of some kind by a person. AI can learn from humans processing these claims and apply what they have learned to processing future claims. AI can’t do this overnight and it will require some time for it to develop all the skills needed. Until then, Hellevance will continue to ship jobs overseas and maintain the minimum amount of onshore staff required until AI is up and running.
This isn’t just claims. AI is going to be implemented in multiple areas of business.
Why would they care if it's right? They only care about maximizing their profit.
Claims Moving to automation do they keep a small portion of the team to confirm AI did it right?
More layoffs for California. No surpise though due to the fact that Anthem Blue Cross lost 16 Medicaid counties! You can review the WARN report on the CA EDD site: https://edd.ca.gov/en/jobs_and_training/layoff_services_warn.
Really? I remember when I did claims way back when and they were starting to train offshore for that specific job. A bunch of people were laid off and offshore got majority of the claims jobs. Now, AI will do some claim work? Wow.
I don’t have any specific information but I believe layoffs will happen in small pockets throughout the year. It will happen as AI gets implemented and more work gets shifted to Carelon. I know for a fact that they are developing AI to take over front end claims processing. The only reason the company still has so much work onshore is because of groups restrictions and accounts paying extra to have claims and customer service kept on the US.
