Not related to layoff but what do line supervisors make a year? Is it different for each plant and why is it a secret when they get to know basically everything about the people working under them?

I couldn’t agree more about the sabbatical time off. You have personnel that works from home getting months worth of sabbatical. You got R & D getting time extra time off . Technical service, parts dept and engineers ,shipping coordinator that work from home. Where is the stress ? Only salary people can be so
called “stressed out” ? What a joke!!!!!

What's really sad about all the downtime at Whirlpool is they won't pay anyone any money but give everyone on salary a months paid sabbatical on top of whatever PTO they have. Once again it's fu-kmthe people at the bottom.

Being at the Fall River plant for a few years. I have never seen the lack of production and upper management couldn’t care less!!!

Fall River operation only care about you participating in the quarterly surveys. They don't care what you say just that you do so they can boast high "participation" numbers as if anyone really gives a sh-t

Get ready for another round of layoff effecting us in engineering, technician and office personnel. Guess I may not have a job. Good job upper management at Fall River plant and Benton Harbor. Temporary closure August, September and December 🤬

Looks like my job may be on the line. Fall River cutting office personnel and engineers. 🤬 Ty upper management “SG” “MC” for ruining more lives with your poor management! We can’t build more than 10 pieces of equipment per day. You all better save your bonus $$ , you all won’t be making much money when you all get booted!!

Brace yourself Fall River Plant. The short term "closure" is mainly them figuring out how to downsize, more layoffs coming.

Wishing you guys the best, and good luck out there. Whirlpool is truly going down the hole.

Everyone in the office at the Fall River plant should get axed. They destroyed this plant that used to make money hand over fist and now they can't even afford paper towels. RIP American Dryer

Fall River,Ma get ready for more bad news! Been here for over 20yrs and now they will temporarily shut the doors for a few weeks coming up soon. It’s either use any vacation time you have accumulated or unemployment. Thankfully I have plenty of vacation time. But I know I there is only a 1-2 yrs left here before they sell this place off and close it down. The industry is a buzz of us closing 😭

Probably time for a new CEO and leadership. Stock since Mr Bitzer took over has gone from 184.44 on Oct 1 2017 to 110.62 on Jul 15 2024, a 40% drop. The DJIA has gone from 23,006 to 40,138 which is a 75% increase. Not a great value proposition to invest in Whirlpool when leadership the past 7 years has resulted in a SEVERELY under performing company.

July 25th there's some mandatory meetings being held at GHQ. No further information other than speculation: restructuring, downsizing (again), potential sell off of certain brands.

More reports that the Bosch acquisition fell through. Unfortunately that means Whirlpool will continue to lay off and "restructure" until it finds an interested buyer.

Bosch isn’t buying if you check with German outlets. seems like this was a Whirlpool leak trying to crush shorts. Bosch wouldn’t buy this business and pay up for a melting ice cube

Gotta love watching personnel using their sabbatical as extra vacation time. Same guys that take vacation, but don’t put into the system. So it’s never deducted!!!! These people are messing with our livelihood 🤬

Going bad to worse at the FR Plant! Corporate has us under the magnifying glass and our numbers are deep, deep red. Can't see any way out of this one.

Hearing another 10-20 personnel at the Fall River Mass plant. The commercial washer has been a failure and we are bleeding money heavily. This plant was out of site and out of mind. When the appliance business was booming during the few years during Covid. Now the spotlight is on us and it’s not going to end well!!!

I remember when we used to build over 120 machines a day on the main assembly line at the Fall River Mass plant. Now we tell Michigan we can build 10 a day, but 15 per day so it looks good. Upper management gets their $50k and over bonuses. But yet we are laying off personnel every month practically 🤦

re: QM's comments... "More meetings between management taking place all trying to make sense of what's going on. They'll try to get operating costs down by freezing lines and closing the plant for amounts of time."

Are these concerns limited to FR and coin laundry, or are these meetings occurring company-wide and affecting other plants as well?

Cleveland TN plant eliminated 2nd Shift altogether. 30 people on day shift got the axe to make room for all but five 2nd shift people. I'm sure more will get axed or eventually quit. Unless they get taken over by Samsung or LG...I see the whole plant shutting down by the end of 2024.

Bradley County Plant up next, up to 50 positions getting canned. Looks like whirlpool is getting ready for a string of layoffs.

Everyone knows time is limited at the FR Plant. Seriously guys, get your resumes going and look around. Don't wait for this company to go under, take care of yourselves first.

The word is they are giving up on the Nova washer line. Which will mean layoffs for the washer line and personnel movement for the ones they want to keep. Customer service and Research and Development possibly being part of the layoffs. Taking money off the books for a sale to a competitor is my bet and that Will shutdown our Fall River Ma plant. We are bleeding $$$$$, but for years upper management getting $50k bonus or more. Because of the small appliance business was booming and carrying the commercial end!!!

Sad to see that a lot of toxic people still remain in the company while workers who stayed there their whole lives get the axe. Unfortunately leadership promotes toxic traits and have caused nothing but downfall for the company

Now the FR Plant manager is "heading back" to Mexico. Obviously trying to play off the upcoming lay offs. They just announced over the weekend 1000 more lay offs. Hang in there everyone, keep your resume updated.

Matt C is an absolute clown!!!! He has the role as “Senior Analyst, Emg.” and is supposed to be “Superintendent” but literally does NOTHING more than drive a forklift or work on A/D Line as an assembler doing the same assembly work as the assemblers on his line, yet, makes Sr Analyst, Eng. level pay. Tell me how is only a high school educated person in the role as a Sr Analyst, Eng.?? …..isn’t it a requirement to to have at LEAST a bachelors degree for that?!? He is literally an assembler and forklift operator…..the man is an absolute cancer to Fall River Manufacturing who goes around disrespecting everyone and calling it “Straight talk” the man is too ignorant to get out of his own way. He hangs his hat on how he’s beat MULTIPLE HR complaints like it’s a joke or something to be proud of. I heard he’s made several of the girls in the front office cry recently and it was pushed under the rug by senior management in FR and not escalated to HR. I’m glad FR finally had on-site HR and hopefully he get sent packing for good, like he should have YEARS ago!! There is no room for toxic leadership like that. It’s a wonder Whirlpool allows this type of behavior this day and age….Maybe someone needs to make other aware of really what’s going on in FR…. Matt Corn is the problem, people in sr management need to wake up and address the cancer and remove it!!!!

Still so many people in Tulsa have not been told what their new positions are. I feel so sorry for them. Why has this been done so poorly? Whispers, rumors. So many people seem to be suffering from high anxiety as they wait and wait. I have to think leadership just don’t know how big a deal waiting has been. Thankful I have been told what my postion is.

It is completely unexplainable how they are letting go of so many people who have contributed to the FR plant and that fact that MC still remains is beyond any logical comprehension.
