Ten more from the FR Plant today. Mostly engineers. MC remains

Hey Fat Tony. Can't speak to what was posted below but it's certainly within the company's power. It would take a bit, but doable. And seeing whirlpools financial report and future guidance, it's plausible. Unfortunately higher ups will get fairly compensated while the hard working employees will get shafted.

How do you know they are looking to sell manufacturing and other businesses and just keep the brands? Is this something known within the company? Means senior mgmt is toast because how else do they afford the dividend. Would Biden or Trump allow this?

Whirlpool is restructuring itself in order to sell off their manufacturing and engineering divisions. They will retain the branding rights and kitchen aid small appliances (due to nice profit margins) sell all manufacturing capital and engineering off to a Chinese or Korean owned appliance manufacturer.
Whirlpool corporate is run by finance and marketing. They have no clue how to run a manufacturing business, hence the stock performance and long slow slide into oblivion. They only maintained market share by buying companies. Like Ford and gm in the 90's, they bought companies for market share and then destroyed and diluted their value by forcing design reuse to the point of zero differentiation.
Time for the upper management to go.

More to come this week sadly. They canned the decent FR engineers and kept surprise surprise king douche himself. Next will be those with seniority on the floor. Hang in there FR Plant, hope you all find jobs that'll treat you right.

(4) people in Tulsa. 24 years, 25 years and 40 years along with another with a couple of years experience. Really tough day for a lot of people. The email was done really poorly. It said you are part of wave 2 and you have a position in the company. Can’t believe they thought that was a good way to send it out. We had heard if you were part of wave 2 you were gone. Ugh

It's hard to laugh at someone asking if everyone's okay when clearly, 1,000 people aren't. Today is tough for everyone in BH, especially those in the call centers and plants. I don't know who Matt C from FR is, but I can't help hoping he's among those 1,000 laid off.

All of this sacrifice, supposedly to save $400M, is just so shareholders can cash their checks and Marc Bitzer can collect a hefty compensation package.

Word through the grape vine is people nearing retirement are the first ones being picked to be let go at the FR Plant. Sad how Whirlpool treats the people who have almost worked their while lives there.

Considering since Marc Bitzer became CEO (Oct 2017) the DJIA has gone up about 68% while Whirlpool stock is basically 0% movement over that same time period perhaps new leadership is needed?

Matt C in fall river is ki-ling the plant. Dude is a total loser who compensates by picking on staff and talking down to people. The people above him must be bigger id--ts than he is. Hope he is next for white collar layoffs

We are critically understaffed in Tulsa, and it's unclear how we could possibly reduce our workforce further while keeping the plant operational. They've imposed a two-month waiting period, presumably because federal law requires a 60-day notice if layoffs affect 20% or more of the workforce. However, there hasn't been any official notice or information available about such layoffs. If Tulsa were to lose 20% of its salaried employees (50 or more per location), I'm concerned that we would have to shut down the plant, as it would be impossible to continue operations under those conditions.

Getting awfully tired of having an axe hanging over my head. Noticed they paid $95 million to shareholders so thank god they are taken care of. I sure hope Bitzer and his 14 million dollar salary are going to be ok. Nice to know how much whirlpool REALLY cares. If you cared Whirlpool you’d fire the mo--n who go is into this mess instead of the employees that keep this company running. Honestly Bitzer has got be the worst CEO.

I agree with the other posts regarding the Fall River Mass plant with poor management with no skills, managers talking down to personnel in meetings “MC”. Also talk about about shutting down or pausing the Nova washer assembly line !!!!

Very anxious at the Marion Ohio plant as they’ve already got rid of all temps, switched to working only 4 10hr days a week and consolidated a lot of jobs and moved people around. We no longer have a 2nd shift only first and third. No word yet on what’s next just heard we will hear more come May. Crazy how there’s a complete lack of empathy for Whirlpools employees and their families that have their livelihoods at stake scared that they’re gonna lose their jobs they’ve been at for YEARS.

Shutdown 2nd at the Fall River plant and got rid of part timers and temps. We finally have a human resource manager. Hopefully they can finally address the complaints against Matt C. Hopefully everyone can come forward anonymously. Nothing like watching people come in at 8:00 and take lunch and not come back all the time!!! Definitely a lot of timecard fraud here too. Guys don’t put in for vacation and take a week a week off. They are messing with my livelihood and others. Poor management from top to bottom. They rather be friendly vs running a business!!!!! Hearing 20% layoff world wide is what we are hearing.

I heard that they shut down 2nd shift at the Clyde plant and got rid of all temps? No confirmation I can find though. I hear whirlpool Marion will layoff all temps and 300 regular employees. Shutting down 2nd shift and part of 3rd.

Timecard fraud runs ramped in this place. Teleworking is telecation!! More layoffs to come, just a matter of time. We only build a handful of machines per day

I agree with above mentioned about Matt C!! Talk about the definition of “Toxic Leadership”. The man is a complete fraud, in no way is he a “Leader”, constantly speaking down to people and about people. Never mind the fact he’s had 12, maybe more HR complaints yet, they keep on promoting him for some reason. Absolutely no one respects him and constantly has to walk on eggshells around him. It is honestly a joke at this point.

More to come, the commercial end of whirlpool is run very poorly. With poor management who treat personnel poorly ( Matt C ) The layoff was supposed to affect 37 personnel. But for now it was only 15. Possibly 20% corporate wide throughout the world for Whirlpool.
