What does this mean from one of the post…
you are on the Quantum Fiber part of the business, you are sc--wed.
I got cut as a contractor about 2 weeks ago and I just got a call from a full time employee saying th
It's messy at Lumen
They asking for
Voluntary layoffs
Saying they'll pay 125%
of package to go
Well I guess it is what it is. But on the bright side I got to get hands on stuff I can only get paying through the nose for free
First, I don’t like being referred to as an “old timer” in some one’s earlier post. Secondly, the executives made the decisions of who was let go, without a care to the roll the people filled. There was no “show of interest”, asking for volunteers, or performance based decisions - performance means nothing. If you think you’re safe as a top performer, let me assure you, you are not. Lastly, if you are on the Quantum Fiber part of the business, you are sc--wed.
Contractors st lumen laid off yesterday - I was pt contractor yesterday last day
I think we saw the first round of silent layoffs in 2023 and those will continue into 2024.
It's shocking to see the almost random mix of people they include, which is always a mix of recent employees and old timers. Often they move them to a new areas with nothing to do and the wrong skills for what they claim will be needed. I think the plan is to get the employees to leave on their own, and if they don't ... they have them on a new do nothing project which is easy to cancel and RIF them when they don't make the numbers.
If they really wanted to save money, they could just the whole PI planning with hundreds
They have put a bunch of people on projects with no work. If that work doesn't materialize they have the new round ready to go.
ive heard that all time sheets across the company are being looked at under a microscope to see what areas they can slim down in. stay busy my friends.
"do wonder what the STI will be, isn't the lower limit of the plan 50% ?"
I believe 70% is the floor for STI payouts.
Yes, it seems very likely based on what I am seeing internally.
latest chatter is another round by the next quarterly numbers release. like the last one this will likely be done by the VP level who really should be the ones writing their own RIF notices. story is they're looking at programs which aren't contributing to revenue like edge and naas despite the marketing hype since basically no sales for either
beyond that expect another huge wave of departures after the STI payments hit in March, lots of resumes hitting the street as people are preparing to be ready. do wonder what the STI will be, isn't the lower limit of the plan 50% ?
Go team go! There's the YES man. You are delusional once again yes man! Tik Tok!
The CenturyLink layoff.com will be gone in 2024.
They'll replace it with CenturyLink crybabies.com
They are less likely to put up with garbage! They will just move on and all of experience they brought to the table is gone! They will just thrive at a new company! Who lost that battle?!
From a recent reply "no one is really missed" well not quite. I can say we lost some good people in our area that knew what they were doing. It seems they want to get rid of people that are technically competent and confident, they are less likely to get bullied.
So far the last layoffs been paying off. Stock is up and no one is really missed things are same ol
Of course there will be. Do any of you think this company's leaders are turning things around? NO of course not. Expect at the end of January more layoffs and possible more divisions sold off. The executives are getting rid of any geese that could lay a golden egg or two. Its like a auto mechanic who hits hard times and starts selling off his tools, tow trucks etc. Same stupid mentality at play here.
There will be layoffs! They can’t afford to keep the lights on! Really?!
Obviously this is an automated post from the site admins. "Any chatter, news or rumors?" Yeah, anybody hear anything lately?
