Do you think there will be Marriott layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

There is a similar VP in security who has no communication skills, is rude to everyone. Multiple complaints against him to HR, but no action either from HR or CISO. Shame on MI!
Frid has consistently been rude and dividing in her messages - not just now but since she took her position. She needs to be moved to a role less than hers mainly so she can learn communication skills and how to be empathetic.
I heard from my desk yesterday that they are looking at increasing business process outsourcing
I haven’t liked frid since she came into her role and made the comment “ I hope I don’t eff this up”. Very unprofessional.
I’ve been in several webcasts today. Part of the CEC. Our senior vice president told us in an answer to a question “you expect me to have a crystal ball”. Frid Edmond, what a discussing answer to questions from us people who are losing our jobs. Horribly insensitive and very off putting. This comment made me decide to take severance and leave this company who claims they put people first. On that note. Frid was not able to explain how these chances impact the put people first core value. She said she would get back to us with how this applies. I hope the customers of this company realize how these changes will diminish their experience. I hope new employees of this company realize that they don’t care about people or tenure or talent. Shame on you, Marriott. Shame
Tony said they hadn't looked at the structure in 10 years? Um. What happened in October 2020? When so many of us got laid off after THAT re-org....
We have already received news of who is going. It has started and seems many will be going
Sending love to all my global Marriott colleagues. We will persevere. ❤️
It is shocking for sure. Legacy Starwood here! During the Starwood merger they were telling that the business was being restructured for sustainability in the future. It was shocking for me to hear Tony say that we haven't looked at the organization in over 10 years, as that is obviously not true, and they didn't get it right from the start.
It su-ks to be in limbo like this. It's not fair to us people who are serving our guests, expected to put our best face forward in light of having the rug pulled out, yet again.
Looks like senior roles are first and then down the line from there
Interesting insight on the CEC front. I think this is just the beginning of things we will be finding out in the coming days. We are in this together
I can confirm the CECs are going to be impacted. Not sure to what level, but it feels like it did during the past merge.
Just got told that Customer Engagement centers will be affected
Potential layoffs or job reductions for 2024 announced, very sad. Job security feels unstable lately, even for longtime employees.
I heard they are targeting senior roles to reduce bureacracy and streamline the company
Have heard it’s going down on the 13th. Anyone have anything new to share?
Department just announced potential “job reductions”
Currently on our announcement call. Great way to start a weekend.
The layoffs had been confirmed. Now we are seeing who has won the lottery
Yes, trimming the fats. Not sure how many will be retrenched. Heard it’s not the first too. It’s a cycle
Us too
Yes our group announced “job reductions”
Allegedly, big time changes & layoffs coming mid November 2024
Yes, coming at end of October 2024
