Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Nobody is safe

If you believe Intel is doing great then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. If you are basing your job safety on that belief then you are especially screwed. Intel has been underperforming for years and we have passed the point where anybody but the ELT was safe a long time ago. You should accept this or you're in for a rude awakening.

Just keep your skills and resume sharp. Don’t get lazy and you will be ok.

Don't write off Intel just yet. Things might be bad now, but if China makes good on their promise to retake Taiwan, and they have publicly stated that they intend to retake the country peacefully or by force, then TSMC will shut down even if temporally. That will be bad for company's dependent on TSMC for their chips, and the global economy overall.

TSMC has stated that they have a contingency plan to render itself inoperative if China invades Taiwan; however, I suspect that China has agents working at TSMC ready to take control on a moment's notice.

Either way, the world still needs Intel to get their act together and position themselves as an attractive TSMC alternative.

Dave needs to save $3B a year for the next 2-3 years (ish), i think that was the commit he made to wall st. That only means he has to deliver that, is with vast layoffs and downsizing.... its inevitable folks. I'm off next CPM cycle (if it comes) and frankly i regret not going for it last time!

Please god, hopefully they'll eventually open up a manufacturing layoff CPM tool. I'd take it rather than waiting out for retirement.

Intel needs 70B with revenue where it is Pat and Dave have a big problem that can’t be hidden anymore

If RTO is required, PLEASE LAY ME OFF!!! I'll gladly take a package rather than return to the Tyranny of the Office! Too many middle management types that like butt$niffers.

100% correct. I truly believe that 2024 will be a defining year for Intel. There will be huge layoffs, the pressure to split the company will result in it, at a minimum, being strongly considered as inevitable.
