Autodesk's "unlimited" (discretionary) vacation is like having to negotiate with a doctor to grant vacation time when there are already 21 holidays (3 weeks)/year granted that include seven artificial holidays like Autodays, Recharge Day. Other employers provide 4-5 weeks/year of vacation without requiring heavy negotiating and provide about half as many holidays. Autodesk's 6 week sabbatical after 4 years might look nice on paper, but do you really want low comp for 4+ years to get 6 weeks of extra PTO? Why not get 4-5 weeks EACH year and with high comp? Doesn't make sense.
