I don’t know. I’m just so exhausted.
I think I’m officially burnt out.
They are mandating us to come in on Friday due to “business needs.”
Giving incentive and time and a half.
Next week they are mandating all of us to do an hour of OT, each day.
The extra income sounds amazing and part of me is grateful to be able to get extra $$ but honestly I’m just so exhausted, rather than being excited (like I thought I would be), I’m dreading it more than ever to the point where I would have preferred to be off rather than do overtime.
Idk why I’m so exhausted. Hopefully the new year there are some positive changes in the atmosphere/attitude of this place.

3000 people were laid off in early 2021, during the pandemic. That added another layer of crud to finding a job. And, if you are hourly and get paid for overtime, that's better than being a salaried worker bee and giving your time away for free. Even when off on PTO (Pretend Time Off) I would end up having to work. If I had $$ for every hour of OT I worked when I was there for ten+ years, I'd be a wealthy person. I had one boss who would give us comp time on occasion. The others didn't give a hoot.
Do the bare minimum until you find another job. The objective is to increase profits, even with bare bones staffing due to layoffs they approved in the first place. If you passed today, they’d have your position on a job board by the end of the work week.
I sure hope this wasn’t my department considering I clocked out yesterday right on time with no mention of mandatory work today. I’m not even close to home due to travel for the weekend . Smh. This company has gotten WAY out of control. You layoff over 2k, triple the workload on those remaining, mandate OT daily and now on paid holidays??? I’m so over it and hoping 2024 brings all of us a brand new job with less to no toxicity.
What department? This is horrible! I am sorry that this is happening. My PL was off last week and gave my other coworkers off this week It is just them and me, and she is riding me like Seabiscuit.
Actually just found out that those they are mandating to work on Friday, which is a observed Holiday- have to work regardless of plans/vacation.
Calling out/planning out, even if sick will not have you covered and you will lose holiday pay, OT, and incentive. On top of that you will get double points added to you, increasing you chances for either termination or disciplinary actions.
Never had a company do this before and I find it incredibly insulting and disrespectful.
They want people to come in but majority of the companies that work in partnership with us will be closed, so how can we assist people if enrollment sources wil be closed, 3rd party vendors will be closed, etc..
Try to rest & recharge when you can, stress can make you sick, take care.
