2% Salary Adjustment

In an inflationary market, pleAse tell me who gives a 2% salary adjustment. This is like giving a demotion, and reducing salary.

Don’t know what to say.

If possible, kindly share the average salary adjustment across the company for this year. I didn’t attend the town halls, so didn’t get the number.

2% raise just screws with your income taxes. Often you end up taking home less money per pay period. A few years ago I got 0.5% raise, and the supervisor sat there, and smiled and told me I was very lucky. I was absolutely stunned. It felt more like a slap in the face. (words i can't say in public)

It's the same old story, when inflation was high they told us the raise would slightly lag because HR have to wait for competitor benchmark survey which will eventually catch up. Once things calm down a bit then they spin the same story as be grateful of your 2-3% raise, it's better than than half of your poor coworker who got nothing. Remember when we used to target 75% benchmark and now we aim for (around) median

Sure inflation comes down, but don't forget inflation is compounded, those 8% price increases are forever baked into everything else.
What a scam.
And the employees are brainwashed to think... Oh no I should shut up and hid in the corner because if I ask for competitive pay then I would be let go. I remember being promised in this company you forego performance bonus for a consistent base pay increase. How stupid I was to buy that statement

I got nothing after being ranked "needs improvement." Which was 100% emotional not work based ranking. I was told 3% was the median increase for my group.

Half the company didn't get anything so 2% is pretty good. Look at it that way.

I didn’t attend the town halls either. Those are just waste of time anyways.
