Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

PTO Protected

Did anyone else here the amount of PTO protected hours will depend on the state you live in? For example we were told CA, NJ & NY will get 80 hours PTO Protected hours but TX and FL will only get 16 hours. So depending on what state you live in you will either have to watch your emergencies closely or have the freedom to actually have emergencies. Seems very unfair to treat people who are doing the same job differently.

All full time employees get it, it's listed in the HR time away. Double check and save a copy of it and send an email to whoever to use it. Keep the paper trail.
There is different PTO banks/policies based on where you live. Like AZ gets paid out at end of year instead of 40 hrs carried over.

This is not true. 64 hours if still the policy. If leadership is telling you this, you need to speak to HR. Dune locations may have more time, but 64 hours is the default.

Well, then take it up with the government. As someone who moved to a red state, I can tell you we have saved a ton of money.

What does it matter? Most of us left at this point won't be around a year from now anyways. There's a lot more vendoring and outsourcing to be done in the year ahead!

Not sure what you mean by “protected” PTO, but generally Blue states have more employee-friendly laws than Red states. Enjoy your freedom and low taxes!
