Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I am looking for a new job

Hopefully, everyone else is looking for something better. My manager is always pushing to squeeze more and more work out of me.

The only reason you would be pushing you harder (growth / promotion) is in order to take credit for creating the environment. Dell management do not have the technical knowledge or experience to measure whether you are achieving these growth goals. I recommend getting buddies to submit good satisfaction surveys. Also host training sessions / meetings for your coworkers that your management and their cronies are aware of, or attend - by pretending that some useful knowledge is being imparted by referencing KBs or processes, Dell management in EMEA are always impressed.

Is it possible your manager is looking to give you growth goals for a future promotion? In order to move to next level you have to show competence in the new level and responsibilities. You don’t simply get promoted by being in the same role, doing the same things for XY number of years.

Do more with less. Work more for less. Be happy with less.

They keep raising my quota, my bonus shrinks every time. Backdoor salary reduction!

Working in sales in corporate America is like being a smooth-talking wizard with a quota spell – you wave your PowerPoint wand, sprinkle some jargon dust, and hope the clients don't notice you're selling them a magical bag of promises.
