I know many at Cigna have been contacted by recruiters over that past week or so. Folks in that field are well aware of what is going on at Cigna. I know because one of my good friends is a technical recruiter. He was the person that warned me about what I'm about to tell you all. There have been people contacting Cigna employees on LinkedIn claiming to be recruiters. They are actually reps of Cigna hitting people up to gauge whether or not that person might be actively looking to leave due to the uncertainty of the MA sale. Take this for what it is worth, but this guy is a LONG-TIME friend and is very well informed about the goings-on in the recruiter field. I have forwarded him some info on people that have contacted me and he says he has never heard of them, and in some cases, even the company they claim to work for. Just be careful who you talk to and what info you give them.

Simply seeking to understand, @2gia+1qYS1OYp. Appreciate the info and leaving it to each person to decide who and what to believe.
"Original Poster, can you share which areas(s) / types of roles have been targeted with these fishing calls?"
Do you genuinely believe that Cigna would dedicate resources to this? OPs only validation is "I've known this guy for a long time and he said it's legit". Better chance that both of them have no idea what they are talking about.

“A project manager from Cigna contacted me via linked in and sent me a di-k pic”
Sorry for partying
True story. A project manager from Cigna contacted me via linked in and sent me a di-k pic 😂
My boyfriend sent him a message and he deleted everything and blocked me 🤣
Nothing surprises me around here! Has anyone else noticed that they’re getting rid of all the people who actually do the work, not the Managers or the Directors? Maybe they’re getting a little worried that people are tired of living in fear for their jobs and will jump ship if given half an opportunity. Those that are responsible for getting the work done and are critical to “delivering on our promises” are NOT the ones putting big money in their pockets, but they’ll be the first to be job eliminated. It’s beyond confusing and when they end up with newbies who aren’t familiar with the business and the way Cigna does things, it’ll be interesting to see if they can truly deliver. I’ve heard that several projects that were a high priority have now been descoped - so things aren’t good around here and won’t be anytime soon.
What a crock of sh*t
You're giving Cigna and HR too much credit here :)
I work for a petty Cigna leader who promotes similar petty behavior on her leadership team. Because of her, I believe the poster.
thanks for the heads up OP
Original poster here. I KNOW how this sounds and I very much debated even posting this. I do REALLY trust the source, so take it at face value. All I'm really saying is try to vet the person if you're contacted right now.
I love a good conspiracy theory but this seems counter intuitive, lol.
no way this is true
I seriously doubt this is true.
why do they care? they're the ones laying off people while making huge profits
Wow that’s a diabolical way of tracking people. Why would they waste time and resources in this though? Isn’t it obvious to mgmt that nobody wants to stay in Cigna
