Thread regarding Optum layoffs

The best course of action is to leave

Leaving as soon as possible. The insurance costs alone are ridiculous. The pharmacy benefits are beyond frustrating. More layoffs mean more work for others on the team with zero job promotion or increase in wages. UHG has grown way past “mega” and it’s perplexing how it is allowed to own, operate and acquire at the rates UHG is pacing. Directors without investigating why something is occurring are quick to email teams pointing fingers when the issue should be directed at the lack of team members to do the work appropriately and or per the time line requested of the client.

What about Patient care coordinators, Ambassadors or Office managers? Seen any lay offs there?

It's an election year. I wonder what would happen if every worker at every organization getting government contracts wrote their senators complaining about these companies firing Americans and off shoring workers. I wonder

As for the Insurance costs: I worked at an Ice Cream shop - received free ice cream, worked at a winery - got free wine, worked at a Auto dealership - gave me a free car...why do we PAY for our own products? AND Pay dearly. Make me want to wear an OPTUM shirt, give us a carrot for pete's sake.

They won’t layoff unless forced. They love their redeployment program. Push you into a job not matched, that you will hate and force you to quit. This way they WIN, look good and don’t have to pay severance. Sickos! They are the worst kind of greedmongers!

Make them lay you off and take the severance unless you truly find something way better. Quiet quit in the meantime

It wouldn't surprise me if HR was on here encouraging people to quit. Reduced operating costs boost the stock value and mitigates the rumors of layoffs.

"UHG has grown way past “mega” and it’s perplexing how it is allowed to own, operate and acquire at the rates UHG is pacing."

THIS is the crux of the matter - Anti-trust, monopolization of the Healthcare market. As a legal professional, one can only assume that OUR US Government and its leaders are complicit in these activities. They are likely shareholders and investors with substantial personal investments and interest in all of this. Pure corporate greed!!! Corruption at the top!!!! There's got to be a TOP Tier Law firm willing to take this on and make an even bigger name for themselves.
