Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Went off on my PDS meeting

Got sc--wed by the "new system". After years of BTE got knocked down a level and told I was just outside the percentage limit for the new structure. I'm easily one of the top performers of all the teams in our department. That was it. That was the final straw. I told my leader exactly what I thought of the new ratings system, the company, and other things. And I made it clear I am just around for a severance. I told them to go ahead and draw up my 2024 PDS and knock it down to the next level so I can sign it now as that is all the effort they are getting out of me going forward and no need to even waste my time next February with it. You could tell the smug hu--y loved to see me upset and dissatisfied. The company is doing it on purpose now. This their new try to defeat people to quit on their own.

Agree “ for sake of job” but rating should not have been changed if done properly. In > four decades with hundreds and hundreds administered, I never once changed, regardless of employee view. Have monthly updates, share candid feedback on performance and the PDS is very very simple and easy. PDS should be no surprise if leader has and real talent.

@2vff+1qXMCSuJ- or the manager knew they were sc--wing their employee over with the new system but had to fall in line for the sake of their own job and when the employee decided enough was enough and raised a small amt of pushback the manager capitulated as they knew it was BS in the first place.

Appealed and uplifted should not occur. Either manager did poor job on initial assessment or has no backbone. I suggest later.

I love that when people get moved down it's a conspiracy and not their actual performance.

Probably the same people complaining about that are also posting how they ate just milking the company by doing no work and waiting for severance

You’re lucky, I got taken down TWO levels. Appealed and got uplifted one level. Out of myself and three of my colleagues, three of us got moved down and one stayed the same as last year. It’s happening company wide. Absolute joke!
