Employee Counts - Numbers don't add up

The annual report for 2023 came out on 2/2/24. Here's what's reported:

As of December 31, 2023, we employed approximately 67,000 full-time and part-time employees, including network, retail, administrative and customer support functions.

So at the end of 2022, the reported number of employees was 71,000.

Mikey/Petey/Deanne - How do you lay off 5000 in August and only show a delta of 4000 employees in the Annual Report? Hmm...

Is the massive DEI org necessary for business operations? Hmm!

They include part time employees in that 67,000 number.
In addition to forcing people to leave or take demotions and pay cuts, they will gladly trade full timers for part timers.
And they haven't outsourced the network/ops people yet, either.

They hired 1000 additional VPs.
