I am a manager of 18 nurse case managers and 2 team leads for a national account. The VP just pulled me and my co manager and Manager into a meeting and we are to let go 10 people including a team lead. Then our remaining nurse have to train contract nurses and going forward in 2025 we will only be co tract nurses. I basically have to train my replacement. I hate this place.

Wish I was on your team. I'd be so happy to get the F out of here!
To OP, how did it go today? Did it happen?
I am so sorry. Half my department was let go a month ago. It su-ks what is this company coming too.
Hi OP - I'm a reporter with Healthcare Dive covering health insurance companies. I'm so sorry to hear about the RIF - are you open to sharing more details? I'm interested in hearing more and I can keep your information anonymous. You can reach me via email at rpifer@industrydive.com. Thanks!
I am so sorry! As someone who was part of 10/20 and never had more than a 15 min conversation with my managers after the RIF convo, here is some advice that those you're laying off may need:
Tell them to lean in to the Right Mgt resources--sooner rather than later
Assist them with contacts/connections you may have at other companies or other depts w/in ELV
Know that you are there for them and want to help them instead of turning your back on them while they're working out their notices.
It is a terrible situation to be in but you have the opportunity to be the manager/leader most of us wished we would have had when we were told the terrible new.
I am so sorry, OP. I can't imagine how stressful it is for you and your co-manager and I am really sorry for your nurses! And replacing them with contractors stinks!! Boo
I'm so sorry for what happening.
So this confirms couple of previous comments on posts that nurse case managers (and nurses?) will be laid off. Hope they find their feet soon. Have you heard of any other departments going to be impacted by RIF tomorrow?
Hellavance strikes again so sorry
