Do not quit UNLESS you have a new job.
Take remote, build up your interviewing skills, and job hunt. The recipe is that simple.

Why not quit? If there is a better job that will pay more why out yourself though all that for Dell’s measly severance package? Find a job now and get paid to interview/train/etc. If you get severed before the new job, good.

Anything less than 5-6 months of severance just isn’t worth it.

Absolutely do not quit. If you are in Dell anything over 5 years then hold out for severance. If you're under 5 years then start prepping yourself to move along as soon as you possibly can, but on your terms. There is life outside Dell.
