Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

We have to face facts

The glory days of Dell are gone. Going forward, things are only going to get worse, not better. Just look at what our "genius" leadership is doing to improve things. Pushing layoffs and RTO can only lead to a miserable workforce which equals a loss in productivity which equals worse results. There's no way forward that doesn't end in disaster for Dell, in my opinion.

100% online is already the disaster that EVERYONE who actually sends quotes thought it would be. What’s the over under on this lasting less than a month? Because honestly it’s awful.

Dell Business model. Sell cheap China made cr-p wrapped in plastic. Move manufacturing to Vietnam because costs are going up in China. After that manufacturing will be moved to Africa.

The chip founderies in the US are being pushed out and will likely never materialize. Not much skill in the US. Just no-skill folks filling out fake data in spreadsheets and crying about being revers discrimination DEI victims even though they have no real world skill set.

And frankly, do a terrible job with the channel. Not enough channel-focused resources for some specialty groups to have any impact whatsoever.

Yep. Dell is really no different than Broadcom. It’s super clear that’s who Michael Dell aspires to be.

That has always been the Dell business model. It has just taken them a few years to completely digest EMC and convert it to the Dell model.

Dell is just a holding company of business process now. We don’t really do anything in house. We aren’t a tech company. We buy Chinese chips, throw our plastic on it, and sell it through a channel now with the recent/ongoing sales changes.
