I made the post before the last one. Don't get me wrong. I am genuinely excited about the prospect of moving to HCSC. I am nervous that I will be cut before I get there or shortly thereafter. At the Town Hall they said majority would move over, but not all. Once I hear I am moving over and I am cautiously optimistic, I will be excited. But until then, it's hard to get excited about the unknown.
I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I have been worrying about losing my job for months since mid last year when many of my MA counterparts jobs were being eliminated. Now that the pending sale to HCSC, I feel at ease. At minimum I have a year. I actually have something to look forward to. I'm tired of all of this stress of opex. I've been actively applying to other jobs for months, but now I am actually holding back. I am very interested and optimistic about moving to HCSC.
My theory is that HCSC will do a first sweep of which areas to come over. Then staff will be kept or let go depending on how they have been ranked my their manager. This is the first time I have legitimately been worried about losing my job in my 25 years of professional work. Terrifying that my livelihood is at someone else's discretion.
what department still has 11 directors? Core Tech?
As of Friday, one small IT organization still had eleven directors. People just aren’t understanding all the layers and the need to waste money on directors when a regular manager position would suffice. This type of stacking/layering is a big part of the problem and was proven years ago and they came in and cleaned house. Maybe it’s time to look at the leaders placing all these unnecessary directors and spending money so freely. They are not the ones delivering the work that helps us to get to that billion dollar profit.
I have had a few theories how they will do it… no experience with this or clue how it will turn out but these are my thoughts:
