Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

From Denbury Layoff Site

Question: Pioneer Here
At Pioneer, we haven’t heard much on how the whole process of job offers if there are any are going to happen. Did you have to interview, or were offers just extended based off of resumes?

Thanks for your responses.

Answer: We haven't received our offers yet; we should have them in a couple of weeks, but they won't take effect until May. We did not have to interview or submit any resumes. The offer will be based on our current pay + bonus, since it would trigger severance otherwise. They have already informed some entire departments that they are being let go... and they want them to keep working until May. If it's anything like our process, they'll extend the onboarding process for six months after closing and keep you in the dark the entire time. Once people from Pioneer start jumping ship, they might then, maybe, start giving out offers earier.

Sounds as if a lot of you are in Denial and shock. Reality is that you will be looking for a new job at some point. Most of you will be under the desk or chopping each other knees out from one another soon to keep a spot sadly. Either way ride it until the wheels fall off. No one is hiring
