Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Toxicity

On a scale of 1 to 10.
How does everyone rate the current level of Toxicity at Dell?
No HR trolls just honest answers.
Lets have a poll.
I myself am currently at a 9 maybe even a 10 and thinking of handing in my notice in the coming weeks.
I just cannot face the bs in Dell much longer and need a change.

What happened in Seattle?

Things were already bad on my team because of our incompetent, sociopathic leader. The layoffs and RTO policy are almost too much to handle on top of it. So I’m at a 9.

  1. Even before this RTO nonsense my department has spent the last 4 years in more or less a constant state of chaos. Layoffs and churn are so frequent we can barely get anything done so everyone is too checked out to do anything. We go entire years without completing a single project because teams keep changing and everyone is too burned out and demotivated to give a sh-t. Meanwhile leadership takes their stress out on their teams by acting like gossipy high school bullies.

THE Toxicity comes from you worrying how in he-l are you going to be able to put in a full days work, when your forced back into the office. Come in or GTFO no loss

Right now, 6-7. That number may go up after next week. I was supposedly up for a promotion. We'll see if they hinge that on my becoming hybrid. If so, my vote will go up to a 10. The majority of my department is remote and no one else from my immediate team lives in the same area. This RTO policy is absolutely absurd.

Realistically, 6-7, my team is cool, but the layoffs freaking blow. RTO has kind of united the team because we are all pi---d. All staying remote, it makes no sense for our team. Y'all out here saying 10, please leave for your own sake, a job isn't worth that level of stress. If they forced an RTO with zero option to stay remote we'd be at an easy 9-10. The main thing keeping us toxic is the lack of promotions for skilled team members doing tons of work.

Don’t quit. Get that severance package. Make them pay you out.

It's rough; everyone seems stressed with management asking for shorter timelines and impossible projects to complete on time - all the planning is thrown away, and everyone is trying to meet these demands. I will do my job the best I can, but it is hard to focus with so much work and the dread of WFR.

Toxicity is at an all time high. The constant cutting and dictator type policies - ie RTO are minimizing and rattling people's psyche. had to love how in Oct (mental health month) 2 of Dell's former employees after being RIFd shoot themselves and others in Dell parking lots - Round Rock and Seattle. and then the Dell HR trolls have the audacity to say "mental health" month. I used to be so proud of Dell and now it totally su-ks. The miniimization of this RTO and how they're going to track badging in and hours on the network to ensure compliance before they make their short list of who they're cutting is beyond toxic.
