Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Cigna will be sure to stiff us

With the sharp increase of cost of living, we have all been squeezed by every other company to pay more for everything. Food, utilities, subscriptions, gas, and just about anything else have all gone UP in price. You would think that Cigna would do their Employees right by giving everyone a increase to offset this cost... but knowing Cigna, they will be sure to stiff us employees. Meanwhile many other employers are providing a cost of living increase to employees. I guess we should be happy we have a job, but putting food on the table has been harder this last year than before. I'm starting to consider picking up a second job.

Exactly what I expect, @jyl+1qRg1Slx. Even if they just reported 1 billion in profit.

I called it was it was beck when the gave us all a bonus and NO merit. We fell behind 1 year in merit increase and all of our salaries remained stagnate. What stung more was hearing David talk about all the growth we did that same year. Cigna used Covid as an excuse to stiff us and re-packaged it as a positive thing of us all getting bonuses. I wish Cigna would prove us all wrong and actually give us a cost of living increase. I worked for a large non-profit health insurance plan during the last great recession, and they gave all employees a cost of living increase. If you work for the federal govt. They provide a cost of living increase. 80 -100K isn't what it used to be anymore.

Don’t forget the year that the company withheld merit. That put us behind while salary ranges shifted. Why don’t they share ranges on pay statements anymore? Everyone has the right to ask their leader where they fall in the range. Do it and report back.

For me, $100k is the midpoint, I am at $91k with over 15 years of experience and a masters.

We will get 2%-3%.

Real inflation over the last 3 years is well over 20%, but you can’t expect that kind of pay increase.
