NVIDIA can already afford to buy Intel, but why would they? Intel has nothing of value to offer to them. Its main assets are concrete, financed with a buttload of debt.

At this time the question is whether it will be chapter 11 or outright liquidation with pieces going to the highest bidder. Amazon might buy the fabs for warehouse space, Costco - CCG to keep the laptop department stocked with low priced stuff, The way things look now, the rest would probably largely go to scrap.

@1fuq
What use would Nvidia have for Intel? TSMC might have some use for IFS, but I am not sure about the rest of Intel.

NVIDIA might be able to buy Intel at their current trajectory as they are likely to hit 2 or 3 trillion dollar market cap in 1 or 2 years.

NVDA is >$642 pre-market today, AMD >$174, and INTC <$43.

The market has spoken, it has no confidence in Intel and that says a lot about the companies leadership.
