Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

With all of the layoffs happening, will Cigna employees see Total Rewards in action this year? Will there truly be bonuses and salary increases?

I am aware the earnings call is this Friday, and Cigna has been profitable, so they have the money. Has anyone heard anything as of late?

Yes. Bonus pool funded at ~102%. Merit increases funded in the 2.5-3.5% range.

It’s not impacted by q4 results but should tell us how the company is doing

Some MA teams are also having their budget cut and are having to give merit/bonus to some team members versus others because of this.

“earnings is tomorrow, let's see how the company did last quarter”

2024 bonuses are not impacted by 2023 q4 results.

Hearing this morning that several orgs (Not MA related) both business and IT are finding out that their budgets have been cut. And managers are being asked to look for ways to reduce costs to get their teams within budget. Very sad!

With the sharp increase of cost of living, we have all been squeezed by every other company to pay more for everything. Food, utilities, subscriptions, gas, and just about anything else have all gone UP in price. You would think that Cigna would do their Employees right by giving everyone a increase to offset this cost... but knowing Cigna, they will be sure to stiff us employees. Meanwhile many other employers are providing a cost of living increase to employees. I guess we should be happy we have a job, but putting food on the table has been harder this last year than before. I'm starting to consider picking up a second job.

If we get anything it will probably be way smaller than past years.

Or the bonus could be that we are still employed for now.

I’ll take what I can get and wait for the inevitable

They always had the money, but they chose to do layoffs and will continue to do so. I wouldnt count on getting one but if you do, imagine it will be lower than the past (they'll say to be grateful considering what is going on) so if it happens, it's nothing but gravy for you.
