Why are we still here?

I came here to find out if there are layoffs coming. Instead I found this short and sad gist of the state of affairs. Maybe I shouldn’t fear the layoffs after all?

Riverbed is a shadow of its former self with ZERO chance of profitability or re-IPO. The window to be acquired has passed, if not nearly passed. No one wants/needs this technology because bigger players have integrated it into their offerings. The money Riverbed takes in is to keep the lights on. The company continues to smarty shed talent and retain deadweight upper management. This place is in the dumps.

It’s nearly the end of the quarter, so you might not be around much longer…..

whoever still hasn’t left is just plain stupid, I 8xed my compensation since the leave in 2019

"We" are "not" still here. You are.
I left last year for 2x Riverbed pay and a promotion at the time of hire. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

When you leave Riverbed, you will be extremely marketable, so don’t worry. Stick around for the no-IQ show. When you do decide to leave, every FAANG will want to hire you. No worries on needing a fancy severance package. If you do, Uncle Vector will take care of you and your loved ones. They’re a generous bunch.

Don't fear layoffs - but don't count on them either. Every day you're still working at Riverbed is a day you're not gaining seniority at a place with a real future.
